New York Exemption Form difficulties

I am new to all this research, but I am very worried about filing for exemption in NY state.  I currently live in Queens, but will be moving to Suffolk County within the year.  My lo has been on a delayed schedule and has her 18 month appt scheduled for November and I need to be more informed to tell my dr I no longer want to vaccinate (which will not be an easy conversation).  I have been very discouraged with stories of rejection. Also, all i can find is religious exemption forms and we are not very religious, nor are we members of any church.  Can someone give me some information, or point me in the right direction?  I would also love some NY success stories.  TIA

No advice for NY but have you tried posting in your tribal area?

Good luck mama! I hope you find out what is needed for a NY religious exemption. If you do let me know:)

Here in CA all I have to do is state that I am religiously/spiritually opposed to vax and do not need to state the name of my religion or any church or anything. I think I read in the archives on here that it is against your constitutional rights to have to state what religion you are using as your exemption.

Yes, that's true. In MD it's just a simple form that says you have a religious exemption - no question of what religion or whatever.

I'm sorry, what do you mean by tribal?

Oh, sorry --  there is a section of the forums called "Finding your Tribe" and that section is broken down by regions. This is a great area to get information specific to your particular part of the country/world. If you go over to the section with NY and even search "exemptions" you will probably find a bunch of info. You could also post there and link to this thread to see if you can get some help from folks from NY. Hope that helps.

Hi-

I live in Suffolk county and I was granted a religious exemption for my unvaxed son who started kindergarten this September. Unfortunately, the only exemptions available to us in NY are either medical or religious. You'll never find a doctor who will grant a medical exemption so if you don't want to vaccinate anymore your only option is to claim a religious exemption.

You need to contact:

Gary Krasner, Director
Coalition For Informed Choice
188-34 87th Drive, suite 4B
Holliswood, NY 11423
718-479-2939
CFIC@nyct.net
www.CFIC.us

He helps parents write religious exemption letters for a small fee. He helped me write my exemption letter and my exemption was granted the same day the principle received my letter. I also referred a woman who lives in my town to Gary and she was also granted an exemption.

Good luck!
