Glucola alternative

Hi ladies. I am scheduled to have my GD test next Wed, and when I started reading about what's in Glucola today I realized this is not something I want in my body.  I spoke with my OB and he said he had no alternative to offer me, but if I found one to let him know and we would talk Monday (he's open minded). So in looking back through posts here and Googling I find suggestions of jelly beans and grape juice, and mentions of other ladies being provided a list of alternatives from their midwives. Can anyone provide links or documentation of what alternatives other practices offer so that I have something substantive to give him Monday that is based in science? I don't necessarily want to skip the GD screening, just the chemicalized drink.

I have heard of midwives doing a baseline test, then you go have breakfast, pancakes, syrup, etc, and retest.

Thanks, the link actually spells out the ingredients for a 50g does of glucose, and he mentioned the dosage on the bottle in their office is 75g, so I can do the math to make that. I would MUCH rather make my own lemonade than drink the glucola and spend the rest of the day feeling ill.

Just made my homemade 'glucola' for my GD test tomorrow with my OB's blessing. I taste tested it to make sure I had enough lemon in it, and it tastes like a lemon tea with honey. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the help ladies, happy to say I passed my GD test! Baby has been very busy today, I think he was happy we don't have to give up our favorite gluten free brownies :)
