Anything else you'd like to share: excited and scared out of my mind all in the same breath. Planning a spiritual homebirth with dear friends who are also midwives- unlike my first time around. I believe in the power of birth and the wisdom within me.

Also have hypothyroidism and hoping to keep it and my weight in check during this journey.

Hi!

EDD: 5/31/13
Your Age: 31
Your General Location: New England (RI)
This babe will be child #?: 2 (of 2, ha)
How long have you been TTC: 1 month, got very lucky
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): I'm Cady, my partner and husband is Patrick (met in 1999, married in 2003), and my child is Bradley (11/24/09).  We live in a little house with our dachshund doggy, Walter, our American short-hair kitty Lily, and our red-eared slider turtle, Pickles.  We haven't told Bradley just yet and are waiting till we hear a heartbeat at our first prenatal appointment.  He's still nursing and so far that's been going fine though I notice I'm certainly a bit more tender!  I work outside the home 4 days/week and we're all home together on weekends.  We had an induction with Bradley and though it went fine it was for no actual medical reason, and as a result of our preferences in light of that experience we're planning a MW-assisted home birth this go round.  This will be our last baby.
Anything else you'd like to share: I have enjoyed Mothering magazine since my son was born and am thrilled there are community boards here.  I don't feel I truly fit in over at babycenter and this feels MUCH more like "home."  Thanks to everyone for being here, and nice to "meet" you all!

How long have you been TTC: Caught the second PP egg!
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): I have a son who passed away in 2009 when he 8 days old, and a 2 year old DD.  DD is still nursing, and isn't showing any signs of slowing down.
Anything else you'd like to share: I had a c-section for both DS and DD, and haven't decided yet about whether to try for a VBA2C, but I'm interested in learning more.

How long have you been TTC: "Life is what happens when you're making other plans" -- John Lennon
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): A gentle and 3 year old daughter, mellow and baby-loving husband, and a personable aging Siamese rescue cat
Anything else you'd like to share: Congratulations to all the other families! I look forward to sharing the journey with you! My last pregnancy and postpartum time were marred by a crisis in my extended family (which affected us) and severe depression/anxiety/insomnia as well as health problems that were miserable but not serious. I'm SAH and Waldorf education and ideas of early years influence how I organize my family's life. I am also a longtime vegan who, since a few months ago, sticks to the "nutritarian" diet described in Eat to Live, Disease Proof Your Child, and other books by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. (I think this diet might have caused us to get pregnant in such unlikely circumstances, actually!)

I'm out ladies...bleeding and cramping (starting to pass tissue and clots) at 5w5d ;-( I'll miss you all. Have wonderful pregnancies, births and babies.

@Joyfam  :( :(  Much comfort & strength headed your way.

EDD:  June 8th

Age:  33

Location:  the South

This babe will be child #:  1, one prior miscarriage

How long have you been TTC:  Since last March.  Miscarried in July.  Peed on many, many pieces of plastic.

Family:  An awesome husband and one excitable mutt

I'm holding my breath.  The miscarriage was an awful experience.  We're waiting until after the 1st week of November to go in for our first visit.  It will be a hard wait, but so much better than going in a little too early and suffering through ultrasound after ultrasound and watching the nurse practitioner squint her eyes at the screen.

Say, is there a primer somewhere on all the acronyms?  I know what EDD, VBAC, TTC are...but DH?  BFP?  DS?  DD?  (darling hubby?  blood fitness peestick?  drum stick?  done done?)  I'm outta ideas!

Welcome All! I've updated through here.

JoyfamMama -- Oh no! hug.gif Peace and strength to you.

Espion -- DH = dear husband, DS = dear son, DD = dear daughter, BFP = big fat positive! Yeah, some of these are confusing. It is kind of sad how quickly you stop noticing them though.

Your Age: 39 (40 when this baby is born)

Your General Location: IL

This babe will be child #?: 5

How long have you been TTC: 6 months

Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets):

I've been married to my awesome husband for 17 years (18 before this baby is born/)  I'm a chiropractor.  My husband is a stay at home dad.  We homeschool and love to travel.  We have 2 sons ages 7 and 6 and 2 daughters ages 3 and 1. I am still nursing my 17 month old.  Between all the kids I've been nursing for nearly 8 years straight and counting.

Anything else you'd like to share:
I've tried SO hard to have natural births usually at home. Sadly I've ended up with 4 c-sections.

EDD: June 5
Your Age: I am 31, DH is 35
Your General Location: Denver, CO
This babe will be child #?: 2
How long have you been TTC: this was our first month.
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): DD just turned 3 in September, she doesn't known yet, but she has been asking for a sibling for a year and a half. DH have been together since 2003 and married since 2008.
Anything else you'd like to share: we are so excited for baby #2 and will be having our second home birth. DD was born before our midwives arrived and we are hoping for another quick birth. Thankfully our midwife is taking us on since she typically takes June off. I think we are memorable to her as we were the first birth she missed.

EDD: June 22nd 2013
Your Age: 30
Your General Location: Earth
This babe will be child #?: #2
How long have you been TTC: 2 Months
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): 1 daughter aged 10, no partner, 1 dog. I work in a school.
Anything else you'd like to share: Hi ladies, congrats to you all! My situation is quite unusual this time around. I have been a single parent to my 10 year old daughter since she was born, and since I haven't been successful in finding a long-term partner/husband yet... I made the decision to TTC a second child as a single mom using a sperm donor I found online doing artificial insemination at home. I had thought about it long and hard for about 2 years before going ahead, and on the second month of trying I have just got a positive test result. I know my situation is rather unconventional, but I have been longing for a second child for many years and want to give my daughter a sibling before she is a teenager and feel I am running out of time to meet Mr right within that time period. I know it's going to be difficult, as it has been at times raising just one child as a single parent, but with two it will probably be even harder. I have faith in myself that I can do it because this is what I want for myself and my daughter, and believe I can give another child a lot of love and everything it needs. I am hopeful that I might still meet my Mr Right one day in the future, and will not be doing the single mom thing forever. Please feel free to give me your opinion, I am happy to discuss my situation via private message.

Hi everyone!

EDD: First week of June?
Your Age: 30 in December
Your General Location: MA
This babe will be child #?: 2
How long have you been TTC: hmm, er....
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): My Husband and I have one son and one cat.  DS is 23 months, and the cat is ten.
Anything else you'd like to share:  We have caught the first pp egg, and are super duper surprised to find that we are pregnant.  Not that we are sad, we wanted another baby soon, but thought that I would see a few cycles first! My DS is still a marathon nurser, especially because we are sick right now, so I am a bit worried that the achiness in my belly is a bad sign.  However, I did have a lot of cramps and aches with my first....Hoping for a sticky pregnancy.
