Welcome to the June 2013 DDC! - Page 9

EDD:  June 24, 2013
Your Age:  30
Your General Location:  NC/SC border
This babe will be child #?:  3 (3rd boy as well)
How long have you been TTC:  It took about 8 months this time, the first two took 6 months each.
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets):  I have been married to my husband for just over 5 years now, we will have been together for 10 years in June when baby is due.  :-)  We have 2 sons already, 5 year old Alex and almost-3 year old Jacob.  I'm a little overwhelmed at the idea of a house full of boys but I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun.
Anything else you'd like to share:  I had my first baby in the hospital and had a very upsetting experience, I was actually on MDC at the time in a due date club and was so upset by the whole thing that I never came back to announce the birth of the baby or how it all went down.  Thankfully it did not end in a c-section but it was basically the opposite of anything I had hoped for.  I had my second baby at Carolina Community Maternity Center in Fort Mill SC which at the time was very new, it's independent and run entirely by midwives - I had a fantastic natural waterbirth there that really helped me get over some of the issues I was still dealing with from my first birth experience.  I did have a pre-term labor/bleeding scare at 35 weeks with baby #2, my midwife accompanied me to the hospital and thankfully I was able to go home after an overnight stay and made it just past 37 weeks which is the legal cutoff for delivering at the birth center.

I am using the maternity center again and very excited to be planning another hopeful waterbirth.  Were it not for the legal situation in my state, I'd want to plan a homebirth, but as it is my husband and I feel better sticking with the maternity center.

Thank you for your response.  I appreciate you sharing your experience briefly.  It's nice to hear from someone directly as I have been having trouble understanding how the forums work.  Again.  Thank you and good luck with your next baby!

EDD: June 14th (but I think this one will be a week late)
Your Age: 31
Your General Location: Cottage in the woods (sorta)
This babe will be child #?: 2
How long have you been TTC: we were going to start trying in May... 2013...
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): Hubby, me and 1 kiddo. Small farm, 2 cats and 2 dogs.
Anything else you'd like to share: You'll probably see me a lot in the nutrition and allergy area. Natural health is a bit of a passion (possibly obsession) of mine.

Hi everyone!  I just started using mothering.com and decided I join you all as we approach June.  It's coming up so quickly!

I am due June 27th (my eldest brother's birthday!) with my first little one.  I will be 29 by the time he or she joins us, my sweetheart will just have turned 30 (he is convinced the baby is going to come on his birthday, since he was born on Father's day and feels karma is going to steal something from him just like he stole from his father ROTFLMAO.gif).

We live outside of Seattle on a small family farm, raising out own chickens, sheep, goats, one llama, one dog, 3 cats, and a huge veggie garden.  I can't wait to strap the baby on and spend time picking dinner from my yard!  When I was very first pregnant I had this vision of me working out in the garden with LO and it honestly made me the happiest I could ever have expected.

What a blessed little journey we are all on.  So happy to be a part of it with you joy.gif

Welcome RaeRae and GreenVariety! Your vision(s) of working in the garden is the same as mine!  Sounds like we've got a lot of farmers and gardeners amongst us.

Finally joining in here...

EDD: June 1st

My age: 25

My general location: The Black Hills in South Dakota

This babe will be child #?: 2

How long have you been TTC:  Ha!  This was a surprise.

Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets):  I moved up here with my partner after finding out we were expecting our first together during our long-distance relationship.  I left my 3yo son with his dad, who I've been happily coparenting with, so that he could stay enrolled at his lovely Montessori school.  I have a wonderful, nontraditional family that I am so grateful for!

Anything else you'd like to share:  I'm a doula applying to nursing school- reproductive justice and birth rights are one of my passions.  I do most things "AP" but prefer to call it "primal parenting".  There's a lot more to it (me) that I could share, but I'll save it :)  I'm ready for another babe and I'm glad to be here!

Hello All! Happy to be a part of the group!!

EDD: June 29
Your Age: 27
Your General Location: The Bluegrass State, Kentucky
This babe will be child #?: This is my first child -- but I have an 11 y/o stepson
How long have you been TTC: Miraculously, it happened very quickly after we started trying. Less than a month!
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): My husband and I were married on 9.22.12, and we decided that we didn't want to wait around to start our family. We're college sweethearts and had an eight year relationship under our belts. Family was the next logical step. Now we have Baby Girl Means coming in June. We can't wait. As I said earlier, my husband has an 11 year old son from a previous relationship, and luckily he's pretty excited about the new addition. We have a three year old cat, Wiley Mae, who is my baby girl. I'm a little concerned about how she is going to react to the baby. At present, she hates my niece and nephew (ages 3 and 7). She is in fear for her life when they are around. Hopefully she'll be able to adjust to the new baby and keep her spunky personality.

I'm looking forward to getting know you all and getting some questions answered along the way!

Hi!!

EDD:  June 24th
Your Age:  37
Your General Location:  N. California
This babe will be child #?: 3
How long have you been TTC:  Debating a 3rd kiddo for 6 years . . . actively TTC .. . Um, about 5 minutes? : )
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): Married 10 years to my high school sweetheart after being together for 11 years.  We have a 13 year old, an 8 year old, 4 goats (2 pregnant and due a month before me!), 3 cormo-wensleydale cross sheep, 3 cats and a lot of gophers.
Anything else you'd like to share: Having a 3rd baby does not make sense, when trying to apply logical thought to our current life situation, but we are all so very excited!  (even the teenager)

I am mourning the fact that I have had to get off my long-tail bike as a daily transportation vehicle and get into a car, but we live on a country road and I am now too far along to ride safely with cargo and a 55lb kid on the back of the bike.  Our 8 year old is not quite secure enough on her own bike to ride her own bike into town on the narrow hilly roads.  I know this is the right decision for myself and my family, but I just miss the joy of riding.

OrmEmber, I have two sheep that are pregnant and due right about the same time as I am.  Makes me slightly nervous especially since it's all three of our firsts!!  But I am excited to have many babies all at the same time.

Welcome to all the new mamas!
