I am so excited to be pregnant after so long! I am nervous about the unknown, but trying to stay positive :)

EDD: June 24th, though DH is hoping I'll go a little early so the baby will be a Gemini, lol. He didn't want DD to be an Aquarius like a cousin of his with whom he has a tumultuous relationship, and I had DD exactly on his cousin's birthday, so I don't have a good track record of giving DH what he wants in that regard, lol.

Your Age: I'll be turning 31 later this month, and DH will be 35 soon

Your General Location: SoCal, Santa Monica to be exact. Originally from MN but I moved out here right out of high school.

How long have you been TTC:I had my IUD removed in July and then we planned to skip trying in August. At the last minute we changed our minds, but I wasn't charting and didn't realize that I had already ovulated.

Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): DH and I met while I was studying abroad in Chile. Three days after we met we were engaged, and 3 months after that we had a ceremony in Chile for his family and friends. Then 6 months later we had our wedding in my parents' backyard in West Virginia (I like to call it the US leg of our International Wedding Tour) I was 7 weeks pregnant with DD during that wedding! She was a bit of a surprise, conceived the first day that DH arrived in the US (after a 4 month separation for visa processing) We celebrate 4 years together this December.

.Anything else you'd like to share: Last time I went with a CNM program and had DD in a hospital, free from pain meds but I did need a few hours of pitocin to push me over the edge when I stalled at 8 cm for 8 hours. I think that labor stalled because I had some unacknowledged fear of the pain. I'm hoping to go 100% natural this time around, though I might have to go with a local OB instead of the nurse-midwives, due to insurance issues. We'll see though.

I can't wait to get to know you all!

Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): Amazing boyfriend is 45. We have a fur baby puppy named Gigi.
Anything else you'd like to share:  We didn't think this could happen for us, so it's quite a surprise. I tried to conceive for several years via IUI, dr told me I should try IVF. Lo and behold, we're now prego the old-fashioned way! We're excited and have a MILLION questions, but don't want to tell anyone in our circle yet.  

I'm looking forward to hearing all of your stories and experiences!

Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): one hubby and five kids ages 12, 10, 8, 6, 4
Anything else you'd like to share:  we thought we were done but I guess life/fate/call it what you want didn't think so. LOL  This will be our first baby with a spacing of more than 2 years so I kind of feel like we're starting over.  We gave away all our baby items and everything.  This time around I want to do things very simply though.  No massive amounts of clothes, toys, gear, etc.  The one thing we do still have is the crib/toddler bed since we only just moved our 4 year old into a big girl bed.  That won't be going up for a good long while though since we co-sleep for the first little bit.

Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets): I started dated my partner when we were only fourteen. He's a plumber, loves sci-fi novels, and bicycles. We had a miscarriage when we were seventeen, but conceived my now healthy five year old when we were nineteen. She's a wonderful kid who loves magic, climbing, skateboarding, reading, and bikes.She was born on the highway. Her younger sibling came almost three years later at home. He likes cars, trucks, wearing skirts, and blocks.
Anything else you'd like to share: This is my 6th pregnancy. I've had two miscarriages trying to have this third baby. I am praying for a sticky pregnancy.

How long have you been TTC: since February
Tell us a bit about your family (partner, other children, and/or pets):  My partner and I just made it official last weekend!  We found out a week before that I am pregnant.  I have two stepchildren who are with us on the weekends (boys, 7 and 8).  I am a radical/full spectrum doula and am taking a Birthworks teacher training workshop next month so I can start teaching birth classes.  I have been living collectively with 8 adults and a baby for the last year and a half and am continuing to live collectively but now with just 4 adults (plus two kids part time and another baby before two long). 
Anything else you'd like to share:  We have decided to wait a few weeks before spreading the word and I thought getting on here might help satisfy my blabber mouth for a bit :o)
