Is anyone familiar or have experiences with this program?
We looked at both them and Coursera this semester for some filler for my 16 yo homeschooled/cc student. We went with the Coursera this time because they had a programming class that fit what he needed. He just started it, but thinks it's great so far.
I think it could be beneficial in other ways despite not being for actual credit. I like that he can run with it without me having to manage any of the information for him, but that's kind of more related to our specific issues with schooling this child. ;)
I'm sure that tons of online classes are not everyone's dream for schooling, but I really like that there is public information that's really organized (like in class format) that is higher-level that's free. I feel like it's kind of combating the sky-high tuition and it's resulting constipation of information in our public sphere. I wish there was more of that kind of thing. I'll probably start to take some myself if we can't manage to afford more schooling for me anytime soon.
