I should wear an apron.  However, it wouldn't have helped with the antipasto because that was an accident that involved both clumsy AND forgetful - I hadn't screwed the lid on the jar, then I knocked the jar out of the fridge and it landed on the floor and burst open, spraying antipasto all up my legs and all over the floor.  Thank goodness for the dog, she cleaned it all up off the floor.

LOL! Same here. I'm already at the point where everything that I eat, make, touch seems to end up on my belly. Which is really sad because it's just not that big yet. It's going to be a long 6 months of doing laundry for me. And yes, thank goodness for the help of dogs on spilled food. Now, if I could only get them to help in other areas I would be set.

Babytoes - great news about the job fair. Fingers crossed for you.

AFM - I think my dedication to Team Green is fading   I was at a client's house last night who is expecting a girl any day, and she had asked me to go through the clothes that she has to see if there was anything "missing". As I've mentioned before, I am not a girly-girl, but going through all of those precious clothes really made me want to do some shopping for this baby. I've had a hunch that it's a girl, and it would be so fun to buy a few cute outfits for her if it is. Now of course it will be a boy, and I have so many boy clothes left over from DS, but it would still be fun to get a few new things -- especially because we were clueless that last time and are severely lacking on NB sizes (my DS swam in the 0-3 mo because he was small & skinny). Our appointment is next Thursday... I just don't know if I can wait now.

Good morning!

I telecommute for my job and yesterday was the day I had to actually drive to the office in Seattle. But, for some reason, I cannot sleep! I think it is my attack cats who seem to take personal offense against my feet getting in the way of their space on the bed. I've been up since 3AM and managed to get some work done cleaning out my office. It really needed it, so that was a plus, but I'm sure I'll be ready to nap by the time my 10AM conference call starts. 

Maydaymom10: I applaud you on staying strong. My husband is counting the days and minutes until we find out. And, to be honest, I have my sewing and knitting patterns mentally lined up...

spughy and maydaymom, you are lucky to have dogs! I've lived with dogs much of my life, and they are SO handy to have around for food messes. Sadly, my husband and I don't own one, though we've talked about it, and at this point, the baby's going to come first. :) I have, however, been wearing an apron while cooking or eating for the last couple days, and my clothes are surviving better! I still spilled frozen fruit all over the floor while trying to make a smoothie this morning, but at least I spilled it *away* from me. Sigh.

Why is not finding out the baby's sex called Team Green? Is it because green's a gender-neutral color? I hadn't heard this term before!

That's what I always assumed. Team Blue, Team Pink, Team Green. It makes sense to me seeing that the majority of gender-neutral clothing out there seems to be in the mint green family.

Not sure if I should post here or in the "BOOBS!" thread, but here I go:

Yesterday, for the first time ever, I put my swimsuit on before I left the house and packed some "date" clothes to change into once we were done swimming.  About half way through our lovely family swim time, I realised that I hadn't packed a bra.  Between the size of my boobs (large) and the size of my town (small) there's no where to buy a bra.  And I live 45 minutes out of town!  With supper and a play planned.  So we went to Walmart and grabbed the largest sport-type bra I could find (came in a 3 pack for $15 - not too shabby - if only they fit properly, poor girls were a little squished!)

Ugh! Too bad the sports bras didn't fit well. I'm about to throw in the towel and just wear sports-type bras the rest of my pregnancy. The underwire is killing me! I don't have massive boobs, but right now they are massive to me! I hope you were able to get through your night with some comfort.

Thx MayDay - my boobs didn't do the dress justice, but at least they weren't all over the place.  I might wear it again, we'll see.  I didn't expect it to fit nicely, just for the evening.

Family went camping in central Maine for the long weekend. The whole world is yellow there! Maples yellowed instead of reddening. And there were some rich oranges and toasty browns, but golden light saturated our weekend. Long hike up a mountain in Rangley Lake region and I couldn't make it to summit, stopped about 20 min. shy because the climbing was pretty rigorous and my muscles were wiped.

Feeling very pregnant now. Not just the belly, although my abdomen is achy and I get twinges and pains now and then, but I mean the hormones, the stiffness, the feeling of kind of lugging my body along. My heart feels like it is pumping so much harder that I get wiped out in half the time.
