Britax Roundabout or True Fit Premier?

Hi everyone,

I need to decide on a rear-facing car seat for my vehicle and I've found both the Roundabout and True Fit Premier on sale... the seat isn't even for my child - I babysit and have to transport a very chunky 14 month-old daily.  The baby's parents gave me a safe seat to use but she's pushing the limits on it and they don't have a convertible seat for me.  They said they'd keep an eye out for one for me but my fear is that it won't be user-friendly and I'd rather have something I knew was safe and reliable and easy to install and uninstall as I won't be using it extensively.  That being said, I know Britax gets raves about ease of install.  Is the True Fit Premier just as good?  It has a higher weight-limit.  Thanks in advance!

I really like my tfp and would buy it again if I could do it over.
I have a really tiny backseat and like that I could get a seat that could do both an infant recline but still last till my dd needs a booster.

Not sure if this matters, but the tfp has a harness that can be adjusted without removing the seat. Don't think the roundabout can. Something to consider if you transport a variety of kids.

The roundabout goes to 40rf, the tfp only 35. That being said my large 2.5yr still rf in the seat. Chances are you won't be rf too many 4yr olds or large 3yr olds in a tfp.

For a chunky child, go for the Roundabout.

If the child were tall and slender, I'd go for the True Fit.

Both are very nice seats.

My daughter weighs 31 lbs and is 36" tall at 2 years old and she has plenty of RF room to grow in the Roundabout.

Oh wait... are you looking at the Roundabout Classic or the Roundabout 55? I was assuming the Roundabout 55. If you're looking at the Roundabout Classic... it only has a RF weight limit of 35 lbs. In that case... get whichever one you like better. :) RF capacity for a chunky kid will be about the same in either one. I think the True Fit is a little more user-friendly.
