Sounds like round ligament pains. I hate those. They hurt like a mofo. I get them almost every time I sneeze. Blargh. If that's what they are, then that's normal and nothing to worry about.

Ultrasound went well (other than the desperate need to pee distracting from the "moment"). lol    Our risk got moved into an even lower percentage. And I got to see Turducken hopping around, and maybe even sucking her/his thumb (so hard to tell what we're seeing). We definitely saw something between the legs but, as our tech said, at this stage both female and male genitalia stick out. It's still impossible to tell. Our 18 week anatomy scan is booked for November 30th though. So only a month until we (hopefully) know what we're having.

Hmmm...this makes me curious (only because I know you are intuiting a boy this go-round).  I was STARVING in the beginning of the first tri (pre-sickness) and during the second with my daughter, but was never starving with my son.  And I would say I ate well both times, but maybe a little better with my daughter because I had more time to be mindful about it (whereas with a toddler running around I often skipped lunched or just ate a PBJ the second-go-round).

I am starving this time around too.  I am curious to know if there is some correlation with me, or if it's just a different hormonal level or something.

That's a fascinating theory! I hadn't thought of it, but I wonder if is hormonal or gender related? I've also had much worse acne lasting longer this pregnancy than the last. Deep, painful pimples on my back and around my mouth. I haven't had zits this deep since puberty! Just another sign making me think it's a boy. We'll be our own study as far as symptoms and gender are related! I appreciate the insight!

oy....so i have a stomach like a steel ball...nothing really makes me want to get sick...even when pregnant...but THIS time...my kids are sick off an on this last week and it makes me totally ill...hate it lol...

uterus still bizarrely huge and growing...can't wait for my midway ultrasound...but that is five or more weeks away blah.

Otherwise....just been chugging right along. I've gained approx a pound a week...highly unusual for me in first trimester...and I haven't really been eating a ton more than normal. I will be SO glad for some decent sleep. The baby keeps waking up and the last week a night here or there if he's not up the other kids are. Holy moly...i need SLEEP

I'm only 13 weeks but I feel like I'm nesting. I'm cleaning and organizing all the time.  Maybe its because I feel like my life is so chaotic right now that I need my surroundings to be in order.  I also feel like purging everything in my house.

We are going to look at a 3 BR apt tonight, am I'm super excited about it. We currently live with my Dad and want to move out before the baby comes. I'm so hoping we get this place, it feels perfect for us! While I'm sure living in an apt with 3 kids may not be the best (especially after living in a 4 BR large ranch house for the past year) this place is 1700 sq ft with a small yard; its actually a 2-flat. From the pictures it looks old-school, like awesome wood trim everywhere, built-ins everywhere. Crossing my fingers...

Anyone doing anything fun for Halloween? My two sons are going to be Batman & Robin and my DH is going to b Bane from the new Batman. I was going to be a pregnant more conservative cat-woman, but feel way too big to even attempt it.  We're going to a Halloween party Sat so I've got to come up with something.

I had a different screen name back then, but yup! I was in the Dec08 DDC! Nice to know I wasn't imagining things! What a coincidence that we're in the same DDC again! So many families seem to space their kids closer than us, eh?

I'm wondering if I will ever get the nesting instinct : I am 16 weeks and 3 days and all I want to do is sleep! I am starting my sleeping issues again (not being able to fall asleep till like 2 and then haveing to get up at 6:30 for DD school) but I think that is due to the stress of leaving my boyfriend (oh that could be a whole nother entry!) Good luck on the apt!

I'm feeling all nesty too...which I didn't ever really get with DD. I definitely think being on medication this time makes a difference with that. Plus we just got back from a 2 week trip and I'm totally frazzled. I need to feel in control. I completely forgot I had a midwife appt today until AFTER DH had already left for work with our car! Fortunately we're getting dumped on with snow, so they let me reschedule (the office is on some back country roads, and I wasn't sure my little Echo could get through without getting stuck).

DD is going as a T-Rex, and DP is going as Dr. Grant from Jurassic Park. I'm considering making a cardboard version of the jeeps from the movie. I don't really want to do all the work making one, but DP says he'll help...and it would be awesome. I haven't got any other costume plans, and I hate to miss out on a family theme. We've been doing theme costumes since DD's first Halloween.

Been trying to talk DH into selling our Echo and buying a used minivan. The idea of squeezing two carseats in that already cramped car...ugh. Plus, I like the idea of being able to climb into the van to buckle two kids in, instead of having to stand in the wind/snow/rain/etc. is really appealing. And with a van, no kid would have to climb out on the traffic side of the car (we park on street). And so on, and so on, and yeah...just lots of little things that add up. The mileage would be the downside for me. Obviously, even a van with good gas mileage will never be quite as good as a compact car.

Not nesty at all...I wish I was...my house needs some major work> LOL....but I still feel very sick so it's just not happening. I'm keeping up with a few simple things and that is ALL I can do right now lol.

Any new cravings? Any old cravings now not so appealing? fruit is about all that sounds absolutely great right now. everything else can come of go...nothing really sounds awesome. LOL. Too bad fruit isn't too filling.

As far as cravings, I'm a vegetarian was craving meat like crazy for a while. I started eating meat a couple times a week. Now that I'm feeling better I don't crave it anymore and will probably give it up again.

I hear you on wanting to purge everything. I'm literally (after posting here) about to go around the house with garbage bags collecting stuff for donations and stuff to throw out. We have SO. MUCH. STUFF. it's ridiculous. It's especially important for me to spend the next couple of days getting stuff out because some of my family from OR arrive on Thursday for DD's birthday weekend. I can't have them looking at all this crap. ;)

My lingering nausea is definitely gone (hopefully for good) but I still have gag triggers occasionally. They are always completely out of nowhere. I'm getting better at stopping them before I throw up but it's still sucky. If I'm near my bedroom I've been grabbing my bottle of spearmint essential oil and just sniffing it and the gags almost instantly stop. Thank goodness for that stuff.

I'm right there with you ladies having the urge to PURGE everything!! With 3 girls already, I'm honestly starting to hope for a boy so that I have a good solid reason to start getting rid of all of the clothes we have. Unless they were ruined, I literally have just about every piece of clothing any of my girls have worn (and my oldest is almost 13 and a size M in jrs) because I have such a hard time parting with things. Even though my MIL loves to dote on our kiddo's and buys them tons of clothes, I just can't get rid of the stuff we already have because I have a compulsion to save it for future kids. Knowing that this is going to be our last baby, if it's a boy, we'll have no need to hold on to anything without significant sentimental value (that isn't GN) so that will give me "permission" I need to get rid of it lol.

Overall, I'm starting to feel better. Still having some aversions to foods and having a hell of a time taking my vitamins and supplements :( I don't own a scale but I haven't gained much weight yet, maybe a pound or two, and hoping to keep it low this time since I'm starting out significantly fluffier then with my previous kiddos. At my last apt my MW said my thyroids felt a little enlarged so when I went in for the quad screen blood test, she had them do a thyroid check as well and we're waiting for those results. I've had some weight and depression issues pretty much my whole life so I've often wondered if my thyroid was partially to blame. But since we don't have insurance, I've honestly been scared to have it checked out because of the whole "preexisting condition" garbage. I'm not really sure what I'll do if it does come back high - I'm covered by the state medical because of the pregnancy, but once baby is born I don't know how we'll work that out but I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself.

It's nice to see this board so active today, it's been kind of quite lately!

This pregnancy was quite a surprise (not that I was completely opposed, but just not quite as planned as the other two), but there are a lot of people that space them closer together. But that's okay. I like them spaced the way they are. :)

I was going to get one of those shirts that have the skeleton with the baby skeleton on it, but for some reason, Ebay/Amazon isn't accepting my card. Plus, I have to work, so I wouldn't be able to go to crazy. DD is going to go as a Fairy princess, and DS is going as an army man. (I'll be surprised if he doesn't join when he's older, he's so hardcore into military stuff.)

That's me all over! I need to find something to help me sleep, because this sleeping for four hours, then working for 10 isn't working for me. So any ideas on how to get to sleep would help.

Lately, I take everything to heart. Little things that used to not bother me really hurt my feelings and just run all over my emotions. It's driving me crazy. 

I'm getting really frustrated because I am a personal care attendant and really enjoyed my job up until I got pregnant. Now I am constantly frustrated with the family that I am in the home with and just can't wait to get out of here. It's stressful to know that I'm going to switch jobs in the middle of a pregnancy, knowing that I need to save as much money as I can. I'm just a nervous wreck. 

On another note, I have an ultrasound on the 30th at 15 weeks. I am so excited I can hardly contain my joy! 
 

Strangely enough, in the last week, I have become less hungry, but am really picky about what I eat. 

I'm just really looking forward to relieving my stress!

I think about cleaning all the time.  That's as far as I get, though.  I'm still getting headaches all.the.time but I think it is mostly because I'm starving all.the.time and am finding it impossible to stick to my paleo-leaning eating habits.  I have crazy gluten and dairy intolerance issues.

Oh, and I feel enormous for 17 weeks.  Oh, wait, that's because I am.

I ordered a fetoscope today. I'm 16 w and 1 day so hope that MAYBE when it gets here I'll be able to hear something. Know the norm isn't until at least 18 weeks.

Sorry I've been MIA!  I was 15w on Sun and was so violently ill over the weekend I couldn't leave the bed and could barely get around the next day.  :(  So I broke down and called the midwife for Diclectin.  The starting dose is usually 2 at night, 1 morning, 1 afternoon...I tried 1 last night to start since I wanted to make sure it didn't make me too drowsy.  I definitely need the 2 though as I still had nausea in the morning.  The morning dose is definitely helping now that it is afternoon (it is delayed release).  I am grateful to have a category A medication option here in Canada.  I hesitated to take it but I have wayy too much on my plate right now to be totally out of commission!  Dh is currently working quite far away for the unforeseeable future so is often gone for 12+ hours and home after the kids are in bed.  :S  We are saving for a second vehicle but I currently don't have any transport except my own feet and with my sch I'm really not supposed to be walking a lot.  I trudged over to get my prescription yesterday and had a hard time as it was!  I am a little drowsy but nothing unbearable if it means I can function and actually drink liquids!  lol  I told myself if I started puking that would be it so the line was drawn in the sand!  LOL  The midwife said it seems to get worse with each pg (ugh!).

:( Hugs....I think my lucky stars the most I've had with any pregnancy was nausea. It's been way worse this time but still only feeling sick not BEING sick. HUGS
