Ahhh! I've been lurking here in moments of procrastination but I'm glad to be able to come on and participate now. Things have been, uh, overwhelming this week -- husband has been doing major construction in our house for the last three weeks (so we're down a whole bedroom/playroom of our 1000sqft house!), I had a Pharmacology exam tonight, I'm hosting my sister's (50 adult + 13 kid) wedding shower next Saturday, AND on top of it all I have a cold! And of course I'm struggling with the dregs of "morning" sickness. Blah!! Add me to the "almost mainling Vits C&D" crowd. What is the general consensus on doses here? I'm just praying this doesn't turn into a sinus infection but I am sure all the construction dust around here is not going to help with that!
Also add me to the tribe of ladies with vivid, freaky dreams during pregnancy (especially the first trimester!) I actually have sex dreams so vivid I wake up having an orgasm a lot!
But I also have my fair share of nightmares. Weirdly, with both my first and this pregnancy I have had TONS of dystopic/post-apocalyptic dreams...I have no idea what's that about except I guess that's just where my "fantasy" brain goes (I looooooove dystopic fiction!).
Tiffany, Glad you got some answers!!
1babysmom, yay for reassurring ultrasounds! What a sweet baby! You are right, your odds here are good that the placenta will move. I also had a tiny SCH with my first and no problems at all, totally textbook and wonderful birth at home @38w.
Ruth, I'm so glad to hear you are finding providers you like! Yay homebirth? Was my friend any help with that?
IronMam, have a good trip!!
Cagnew and 1babysmom (and other homeschoolers): I know soooo many teachers and ex-teachers who homeschool. Actually, I was a teacher in a previous life, my husband still is (on the college level, though), and my sister is a high school teacher who is also planning to homeschool! Not to mention at least a half dozen of my homeschool friends. It's kind of crazy! I am also feeling the fall fever...wanting to bake constantly and making lots of soups. Such fun, especially after my summer (usually my favorite season) was kind of a bust thanks to morning sickness.
Bambi, another heartburn trick: with my son as long as I took 1T of apple cider vinegar in water before my meals I had no heartburn. It sounds awful but it wasn't so bad and it TOTALLY helped. I'm intrigued by the d-limenone suggestion too -- I had never heard of it.
To everyone who has heard heartbeats and see beebs: YAY! I can't believe how close some of us are to the anatomy scan! We don't find out but I'm a total hypocrite because I LOVE when others do!
xo to everyone
