Is anyone else having heartburn yet? Mine started last night or the night before, and it's already really bad.

Yep.  I tend to get it right away.  I've tried to be more careful about what I eat (though I'm just trying to learn what sets it off first) and make sure I take my d-limonene.  Sometimes when it's bad (and I haven't kept up on it), I get the urge to take a Pepcid, but I'm trying to resist after all the problems antacids contribute to with me.  And MIL just gave me lots of info on antacids and the issues their use causes so it helped me put the tablet back. LOL

I remember my heartburn being so bad with DD1 that my burned esophagus was constantly hurting.  And then the reflux later on, where, when laying in bed, I could feel AND HEAR (ahhhhh!) my esophageal sphincter opening and I could feel the acid rising up.  Yuck yuck yuck.  Definitely trying the curcumin trick if I get it that bad again.  I take curcumin a lot anyway but never for that purpose.

Guys, I kind of want to squee over the cloth diaper haul I just made from a colleague. I am so excited! They are so adorable, and I think I saved at least 50% from buying them new.

I will be 11 weeks tomorrow and my constant uncomfortable bloatedness is 100 % better. My nausea is about 75% better and my exhaustion is about 99% better. In other words I'm feeling pretty good. Problem is I have yet to hear a heartbeat and am kinda getting scared that my symptoms are disappearing. I am still wearing my regular clothes too, which I'm surprised at because this is my 3rd child.  Anyone else still in their regular clothes?

I am getting very excited about my midwife appt next week, so looking forward to hearing a heartbeat. And hopefully scheduling an U/S.  Also, we are planning on telling our families this weekend. A little scared at their reactions, but we'll see.

I'm still in my normal clothes. Last week I was worried I was growing out of them but I was bloated LOL I do wear a rubber band at the button most days - do you do that?

I had a period of time where I couldn't wear my normal clothes but then all of a sudden I could again. I guess the bloating dropped a bit? I'm 13w today.

14w today and definitely nowhere near maternity clothes yet.  :) I do have a couple of pairs of jeans that are a size up from my usual 4/6 and I wear them sometimes when my belly is feeling particularly gross, but they fall down!  Also on baby #3.

I'm just praying this doesn't turn into a sinus infection but I am sure all the construction dust around here is not going to help with that!

Also add me to the tribe of ladies with vivid, freaky dreams during pregnancy (especially the first trimester!)  I actually have sex dreams so vivid I wake up having an orgasm a lot!  2whistle.gif  But I also have my fair share of nightmares.  Weirdly, with both my first and this pregnancy I have had TONS of dystopic/post-apocalyptic dreams...I have no idea what's that about except I guess that's just where my "fantasy" brain goes (I looooooove dystopic fiction!).

Ruth, I'm so glad to hear you are finding providers you like!  Yay homebirth?  Was my friend any help with that?

To everyone who has heard heartbeats and see beebs:  YAY!  I can't believe how close some of us are to the anatomy scan!  We don't find out but I'm a total hypocrite because I LOVE when others do!

xo to everyone

I lurk a lot too, when I have time to read but no time or brainpower to respond. It seems we ALL have a cold! Mine is pretty minor so far, but I take C and D almost every day, and extra now, so I think that's helping. I add zinc when I feel something coming on. My daughter has it, but isn't bothered by the stuffy nose. My husband on the other hand, is a bit whiny about his stuffy nose. I think he'll survive, though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with vivid, freaky dreams! It sucks, but I feel less crazy not being alone. I'm a bit jealous that you orgasm from sex dreams! I just wake up frustrated that I woke up when I did. I have been enjoying sex even more than I do not pregnant, which is saying a LOT! Yay, extra bloodflow!

Your friend was a huge help! It's funny, she's never been at a birth with the midwife we're going with, but has heard that she's "THE" midwife. Super hands-off and totally what we want. Thank you for e-introducing us!

I'm very excited that my husband told me today that he mentioned to someone at work that we're having a homebirth. We haven't heard back from the insurance company yet, but I think he's understanding that it's what we want, and we'll pay more for it if we must. Still hoping we'll be covered, though.

I've been taking papaya enzymes for heartburn and so far it's helping a ton! It's really just getting started, and I'm going to try ACV next if the papaya enzymes don't work as well in the future.

xo back at ya!!!

Everyone has colds? I feel as if I COULDN'T be so lucky to skip out on that! I work as a personal care attendant with a girl that has a physical disability. Last week, she had strep throat. I was SO afraid I was going to end up with it. Luckily, like you all, I pushed some vitamin C and came out fine... so far, anyway. My heartburn, for now, is under control. I'm not sure what that was all about, but for days I was SO uncomfortable. I just REALLY can't lay down until after at least an hour after I eat.

On a side note, I'm 11 weeks today and just got my first couple cloth diapers in the mail!! I figured I should start ordering early and figuring out what I want since I don't have a Toys R Us anywhere closer than an hour and a half away from home. It has me so excited!!!

About to enter the second trimester and I'm still drained for energy, though. It's driving me crazy that I have to plan my naps around events of my day because I know that I'll crash if I don't have one at some point in the day. Ridiculous! But such a small price to pay!

Well...I'm out of Vit C...dang it....I have one pack of emergen-c lurking around here from being a post baby electrolyte mix. lol....so I may use it tomorrow. My head cold turned into a chest cold. My nose is still running a LITTLE and I'm sneezing some but now I'm coughing when I laugh too hard or just because....and it kills me in my chest and throat. Hoping it's a short lived as my head cold was....I am getting SOME sense of smell back...I could smell my son had a poopy diaper....and on the ride back home from the doctor appt we went to I could smell my husbands nasty gas (LMBO) that he was dying cause it was horrible and I could JUST barely smell it...he was very disappointed! HA HA HA...nasty man.

I am feeling a TON better even with the chest cold than I was with my head feeling like I had 100 pounds of cement in my sinus cavities.

So I bravely stepped on the scales...first time since the extreme bloat stage where I was already gaining like 5-10 pounds depending on the day I weighed myself....I'm back at my starting weight....but my body shape is WAY different...moving into maternity already since my shirts look ridiculous on me. And well I have more maternity anyway since we've been married for 11 years and we have almost 6 children now....yeah...been pregnant a lot lol....I dont even have that many maternity clothes but what I DO have is cuter than some of my regular stuff lol.

Counting down the days til my midwife appt. Can't wait to hear what she has to say about my uterus and where it's located....whether it's "normal" or "abnormal" LOL ....come on Thursday.

Had an appt today to get my youngest next set of AFO shoes for his brace (clubfoot)....was a long trip for a 10 minute appt LOL...but worth it of coarse. Excited for his new pair (these current ones are a year old and have been thru all the learning to eat and crawl and everything stages so they are looking pretty icky) lol.

Guess that's my update....here is my pic of the belly lol

We told my parents.  It was physically impossible to keep it a secret anymore, and while it made me feel ill telling them (I just sent them a pic and let 'em figure it out! LOL  But telling always makes me feel sick because it's just scary to me...), it's also relieving to have it over with.  My mom said she already knew, that she just told my dad a week ago that she thought I was. LOL  But anyway...so we will probably let them spread the news from here.  They haven't said anything yet though.

I had a birth dream last night and OMGosh, I cannot wait for that time to come.  I seriously get giddy thinking about it.

Do you take the NOW papaya?  It has chorophyll in it and tastes minty and I can't handle it at all.  I have ONE brand I like and I was desperate and bought these but it was a mistake.  I'd love to send them to someone so they're not going to waste!

Ahh, I am feelings wiggles so much more frequently!  I am loving it to peices.  I am really feeling more excited about this baby as I've become more comfortable (emotionally) and it's becoming more real.  I have said this in the past and it still didn't turn out well, but I pray this time is different, because "I am really feeling GOOD about this pregnancy." :)

I take Trader Joe's papaya. It has a mild, citrus flavor. It's working so far. I keep forgetting to take it before I eat, but once the acid is burning my esophagus, it calms everything down a TON! And it's inexpensive.

Well if anyone wants the NOW brand, please let me know!  I'm happy to mail it to someone.  I am just still sick and particular about everything.

I haven't been on here in so long it feels weird! I have been having what I think is bad despression. I feel so despondant and like noone cares. Does this seem normal? I wasn't like this with DD at ALL. It scares me. It also doesn't help my boyfriend is being an ass. I will type more later when I get alone time.

Hi All,

I have been rather quiet on the monthly chat boards.I had a good first trimester and except for a few questions in the beginning (1st time pregnancy/mom) I have been doing great. The second trimester is here (14 weeks on Tuesday) - we have had an ultrasound and heard the heart beat and we have shared our news with all family members! We also went shopping for me! And bought some stretchy tops and comfy dresses. I have no bump - just some bloat I think - and as a first timer expect it may take a while. I will be taking belly pics soon.

It certainly happens to the best of us! Please do feel free to share with us what you are feeling and we will do our best to help support you in this time. I would also bring it up to your doctor asap. They will have resources to help you through this. <3

Just checking in at 14 weeks, 2 days. I think I've been feeling movement all week.  I was talked into the doing the triathlon yesterday that I'd given up on. I finished before the time limit but had a rough time on the swim due to feeling squeezed in my wet suit and on the run, I had to run/walk.  I feel bad because normally those things would have gone much better but I did FINISH and there were a lot of little things that went right.  Today, I'm sore and can hardly move LOL!  First appointment is coming up this week and I'm excited.

Not sure I'll be able to keep up here. We own a hunting camp so fall is our busiest time of the year. I'm in the mountains more than I am home and when I am home it's laundry, returning calls and emails, and other business details and out the door again. Owell, I'll try at least! :)

I'm right there with the horrible breakouts, heartburn, and insomnia. My face is AWFUL!! I don't have pretty skin anyway, but it's so terrible right now. I may try the epsom salt rinse and anything else anyone wants to recommend. It's seriously so bad. Also, I've been feeling nauseous and discusting since the beginning, but now at 12+ weeks I'm starting to throw up!?! Just as I thought I'd start feeling better, it gets worse. Ugh.

I won't complain to much though. I'm so thankful to have made it this far and am just praying things will continue to go well!

I'm not even going to attemp to do personals at this point. Maybe when I'm on more often and can keep up a little better! :)
