It took the tech a long time to find out because baby was doing flips and somersaults, but we are having a girl! She hardly held still. The tech would get one thing measured and then she would have her feet where her head was. She was using the placenta as a pillow and then rolled over and put her butt in the air just when the tech wanted to check her face. Then she flipped over and was playing with her hands. It was amazing to watch her being SO active.

We are having a boy!

We have a 3yr old girl and this pregnancy has been much different to her.

So if the heartrate is anything to go by this little guy was in the 130's and she was in 160s

My pencil test over the belly was correct as well, it kept showing boy for this one and girl for the last one

GIRL! We found out on Thursday and are very excited. We have a 2 yr old boy, so it will be nice to have one of each. This is most likely it for us, and I honestly would have been happy with either, but I have to admit that I'm excited to have both a little girl and boy in my life.

Just addressing some of the other things that were brought up. This pregnancy has been so much different that DS's. I've been sick, tired, and just generally run down. But, her heartbeat has been low -- 140s to 150s. They actually measured her HR right before we found out and I was sure that my instincts were wrong and that it was a boy since the rate was lower. But, nope, instincts were right on!

Now I'm just wrapping my mind around the idea that I'll be raising a daughter. I love it, but automatically so many random concerns come to mind that didn't with DS. We'll take it day by day.

Congrats to everyone else as well! Now I'll be looking forward to seeing the birth photos in a few months.

are we having more boys here???

I am so envious of those who know!! I did the "sensible" thing, and to avoid missing too much work, I schedule our anatomy u/s on the same day as my next midwife appt, november 1st.  But now it just seems like soooo far away.  With DD, I had it at week 18, but now I have to wait another 2 weeks!

I`m looking forward to finding the gender because we are still at complete loss over boy names!  We do not have a single one. Not even one we can consider! We need to know the gender to know if we can relax and give up on boy names, or really put our pants on and get to serious work over this!!!

We were going to wait for the surprise, but we changed our minds at the last minute and found out we are having another GIRL! I grew up in a family of three sisters, so I'm really excited that my girls will experience that too!

I have my anatomy scan next week, but one of my OB resident friends at the hospital told me she could scan me quickly at work tonight to get a gender sneak peek!  EEK!  I'm so excited!!!  I will post here as soon as I know!

Eeek, Chapsie! That's awesome! You guys are so weakening my resolve to wait. XD

Chapsie that's so cool!!!

Bena - my scan isn't until the 2nd!  So close yet so far away!  At least I have a morning appointment so I'm not waiting around all day to have it done!  Luckily we've got our names settled now but we were in the same boat there for a bit!

Veganyogamommy - that's awesome!

I got my sneak peek tonight at work!!!  It was AMAZING!  Baby was breech, laying face down on the placenta as a pillow, her knees bent with her legs curled underneath and the little ankles were crossed.  So cute and dainty!

Sweet, perfect, healthy baby boy on board :)

\o/ All these announcements are getting me very excited! I'm just curious, could you ladies tell what you were having before the tech said anything? ;)

Cabbitdancer, We asked our tech NOT to say anything so DH and I could try to figure it out ourselves first. Yes, when the tech began looking at his genital area, we both saw something and commented that it looked like it might be a penis but we needed a better view so the tech moved a round a little and it became clear to us all. She then said she also thought it was a boy, 85% sure. So, if you want to reveal the sex slowly or on your own, you can request it.

With DS2, we were not going to find out but his penis was just sticking right out there and I saw it and commented. So, both times, I could tell.

Before the scan, I had no idea, but DH had a premonition, so he was not suprised.

During the scan, I has thought I saw the turtle looking penis indicator, but didn't say anything.

After she got measurements and started showing us around the baby, she asked if we wanted to know, because she already knew.

Sure enough, boy.

Hello All,

We had our scan on Wednesday, and I am happy to announce that I am TEAM PINK!!!

And was my mother intuition off...well or maybe it was just wishful thinking but I thought for sure we were having a boy, but so happy to have a healthy baby! Doctor says she is perfect and everything including placenta is looking great! I hope no one minds but I am going to attach her little picture here. She is so beautiful and already looks so much like her sister. DH's and my first question..... I wonder if she will have red hair like her sister?? LOL!

Everyone's excitement is contagious!  I never thought I'd be tempted to stray from Team Green, but you gals are making it a little harder to stay!  LOL!!

My ultrasound is November 1st and I'm so worried about accidentally seeing something.  I really want to be surprised at the birth!
