I am a backpack girl. Not a diaper bag girl, but real backpacks. Only problem is that my awesome daypack for hiking doesn't have enough or the right types of compartments to make a good diaper bag (or mom-of-4yo-and-7yo bag).
Plus, as a cloth diapering, nursing, and babywearing mama, I don't need all those irritating, gadgety little pockets in "diaper bags" necessarily--shit just gets lost in there for me. But I also know that some of the newer bags (especially those "for dads," irritatingly enough) aren't quite as annoying, frilly, or otherwise ridiculous looking once your "baby" is out of diapers.
I am dumbfounded at the overwhelming choices available, though. Has anyone found *the perfect* bag?
My perfect bag: easy access outer pockets for oversized mom-wallet, keys, phone, and quick-grab things like hand sanitizer, lip balm, bandages, etc. At least 2 main compartments which are separated, as one will have food and the other will have both clean dipes and dirty ones in a wet bag. Comfy padded straps with a chest clip (although I could add that afterward, if necessary). Oh, and I have a sweet pocket on one of my shoulder straps for my sunglasses right now that is super convenient. And not all black.
...and while I would be willing to spend hiking daypack kind of money (up to $70 or so), I don't want to break the bank, yk? I'm cheap!
