7 month IUGR baby boy! Need advice

force feed or not tha is the question

Well, force feeding is never a good idea.  Can we have some more information?  How big is he now?  Is he eating breastmilk, formula, and/or solid foods?  Was he premature?

Absolutely do not force feed.  The most likely result of that is gagging and vomiting, and making every feeding session into a battle of wills with an angry baby.  These are not good results.

 

I agree we need more info - when you say "7 month IUGR", do you mean the baby is seven months old, or that he was born at 7 months gestation (in which case, how old is he now)?  What's his history as far as weight goes?  Does he hit any of the percentile curves on the growth charts, is he following along below them, or is he on some other path?
