She has been increasingly getting on my nerves until, a few weeks ago, I realized that this woman is the *last* person I'd want around me at my birth. She's a young twit, never had a baby herself, spends more time trying to convince me that she knows it all than actually listening to anything I have to say and, well, I just do NOT want this woman at my birth or making postpartum visits. She works with a partner who is OK, but I don't get to choose. The chances are pretty high that this woman will be on call when I go into labour so, I'm ditching her. I may have found an reasonable alternative. Or I might just stay home and have a UC. I'll make that call when I go into labour!
As it happens, that is the only thing I've yet to do. I tried calling today but couldn't reach her. However, I've finished the last two things on my list, yay! Now I'm just working on nitty gritty little things that would be nice but not necessary to have done before the birth. DH and I even got the upstairs walk-in closet in the hall completely cleaned out and reorganized.
I've been wanting to get that done for a long time!
I agree with OceansEve, from what you've said about this midwife, it sounds like a good idea to ditch her. You don't need that stress while birthing (or before for that matter!).
And hey, my sister helped me paint our master bedroom and I LOVE the new color! So much better than the last one. Now I can birth in that room and not be distracted by people and pets downstairs :) We dragged up the birth pool and and cleaned everything. Even set up the crib though we haven't sidecared it yet.
