I just had to plug the crockpot in out in the garage because I couldn't handle the smell. But I made dinner! Hooray! (Freezer crockpot meals are the best.)

My tummy is getting bigger and bigger. I've always been decently slender/fit, so it's really obvious. I've been dressing to hide it at work (scarves, loose clothes, layers, belly band) but I'm pretty sure others are noticing. I've seen a few men do minor double takes and look hard at my belly.

I really want to hold off until Nov 2 to make the announcement, as I'll be 12 weeks then and out of "miscarriage zone", but not sure now if I'm going to make it.
How can my belly be so big if baby is only 1.5 inches and .3 oz??? I'm sure there's only 1 in there!

My brother and his wife had their baby two days ago, he's so cute
Makes me extra excited for mine! He was over 9 lbs and a couple days before the due date, he looks so big compared to my Sydney who was only 5lb4oz!Target along with some other retailers are really going into high gear tracing purchases made so they can predict when someone is pregnant. It is something the started as they determined there are only a few times in people's lives when their shopping habits tend to be fluid and open to change and having a baby is one of those times. Here is an article about it from February that I found very interesting: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/19/magazine/shopping-habits.html?pagewanted=all
Sounds like your home improvements are going well!
That article was interesting although it makes me think they're hedging their bets since we just bought a larger house and had purchased a few baby items for my SIL a couple of months ago. Otherwise our buying habits at Target havent' really changed except that we do buy more groceries there since we moved super close to one and now it's on the way home. Plus milk and the cereal I like are cheaper there. DH has been buying me cheese and protein shakes but that doesnt' scream pregnant. No additional supplements (not until last night anyway) or lotion, etc. I was going to do a registry there anyway so the free $20 giftcard is just a bonus.
We're going on almost 2 weeks with this damn cold. Today I sound like kermit the frog but actually feel better than I have most days. Just want to sleep though.
Anyone have any suggestions for gas? The last few days after dinner it's like someone inflates my stomach and it's so uncomfortable I don't want to move. I've been thinking it might be due to the cold (drainage) or the fettechine alfredo I've had the last few nights but I'd really like that to stop. It makes me feel crappy for a few hours and then it seems as though nighttime m/s kicks in around 10 until I take a dramamine. It's ok as long as I don't move...
Closing in on 10 weeks here. Looking forward to feeling a little more normal soon.
Anyone have any big plans for the weekend? DH will probably work on the baby's dresser a bit but other than that I think we'll take it easy.

Hey all, I am just lurking in and out as I am a late May early June'er here.... Feeling overwhelmed jumping in here because of how much you have fluttering around and I am feeling so drained it is hard to keep up with it all! Still it is fun to read where people are and casual chit chat during the hours of "eh" feeling.

Amanda, Are you doing anything to help with the cold? You can take extra vit. C and D while pregnant. Lots of garlic will also help kick it, though it probably won't help the gas. I also find that sitting with a bowl of steaming water with a towel over my head really loosens things up.
Wow, I woke up this morning and realized there are papers, mail, adds and what-not stacked all over my house! It felt good to get those cleaned up (mostly). DH is having a bunch of guys over tomorrow morning and my Grandparents are coming to visit (staying with my brother) so I need to get the house in order. We'll see how far I get before my energy just completely runs out.
I am so excited to see my grandparents! We haven't seen them in over a year which is too long!
The school near us does a pumpkin patch each year and a fundraiser so I will probably take the kids there.

I'm in a really bad mood but I will try and write as much as I can. We were out of town Friday night through just now, getting home. We were at DH's annual busniess meeting. The hotel was really nice and the meetings went well but DD is such a bad sleeper in hotels. Fights going to sleep, doesn't stay asleep, gets up before dawn. We're all exhausted and tonight it seems like everything I do makes her cry, which makes me cry. She loves cats and I ordered a movie on Netflix called The Aristocats, well she just cried because she wanted to watch one of her other movies that she watches almost every day. I tried to talk her into watching it to see the kitties, etc. but she just bawled. I really wanted this weekend to be fun for her since we never go on vacations. I took her swimming the first day but she could only swim for a short while because I had put a bag on her hand because of her bum finger and it got a hole in it right away, then today I took her to the Mall of America and let her go on rides and bought her a new book and some new clothes, but she was mad at me because I wouldn't let her meander through the worlds biggest mall without holding my hand. I just feel like a mommy failure tonight. And now, at 6 pm, I am exhausted and hungry but am off to the grocery store because nothing we do have sounds good to me. Also, I think the lack of sleep this weekend has made my MS come back, as I threw up in a public restroom today at the hotel. I just hope DD doesn't fight me on going to bed tonight because I just might have a nervous breakdown if I make her cry one more time tonight.
In a positive fun note, I FELT BABY MOVE EVERYDAY SINCE THURSDAY NIGHT!!!
I'm only 12 weeks, so it is really early for me. I felt DD#1 at 14 weeks and DD#2 at 16 weeks. I wasn't 100% sure the first time but it has felt the same each time. So fun. I find it hard to really feel bonded to the baby before feeling movement. Baby is up really high.

May 2 here! I'm really looking forward to tri2, and hopefully an end to fatigue!! Nausea seems all but gone, but man, afternoons are killer. I am actually more tired on the weekend, I think because DS is so busy and that's usually when I'm busy running errands and doing work around the house. My day job is easy by comparison most days. lol.
I love having the weekends home with DD (DH works at least 4 hours every weekend, usually more), but OMG today was killer. My job is easier, too! She wore me out and then wore DH out when he got home. So it is 8:44 here and we are debating on whether or not it is too early for us to go to bed! ;)
No movement here yet, but I am desperately hoping to feel something soon, as my symptoms have been so minor that I would love the assurance.
Can I put word out there for weekly chat threads instead of monthly? I spend so much time going back trying to figure out what I've read and what I haven't read yet.

That sounds good to me!
But I will say that I find it helpful to use the "x Unread Posts" link right above the "Post a Reply" button - it jumps you straight to the first unread post! (where "x" is the number of posts that are new)

I hope that things are better now that you've settled down back at home. Also- I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU CAN FEEL THE BABY!!! That is so exciting!!! What a blessing- I can't wait until I feel this little one move.

Sometimes it feels like a gentle thumping from like a finger and other times it feels like a little wiggle.

Things being lose isn't the problem, it's that everything keeps draining and it makes me cough so hard sometimes I think I'm going to throw up from the force of it. It also makes me sound like kermit. My blood tests did show I'm low on vit d so I do have some supplements and I'm drinking OJ. Today the main issue is that all the drainage is really bothering my stomach. At least I finally sound sick so my boss can't think I'm faking it. My dh says he's feeling about 98% so that makes me hopeful since he's a few days ahead of me cold-wise.
Stuck at work today waiting on someone to get me the names of people attending a meeting tomorrow so I can make place cards. I've only been asking for over a week now... So happy I get to sit here and suffer because you haven't done your job. Otherwise I'd be at home sleeping because I talked with HR last week to go over health insurance stuff (it's time to select the plan we want for next year) and found out that both DH and I were interpreting the handbook wrong and pregnancy is covered by disability so I don't have to hoard my benefit time like it's going out of style. I only need 2 weeks then disability kicks in and can last for 4-however many weeks my doctor says I need and I get 70% of my income. In that regard it kinda sucks as if I was taking benefit time I'd be getting paid and still gaining more time, but it's such a huge relief to know that I can take a day off here and there, and actually will have to so I don't lose time at the end of the fiscal year. I can take off a bit before my due date if I want!
And, as a bonus, we switched to a high deductible health plan that will mean we only pay $2500 out of pocket for anything pregnancy related next year including the birth and after we hit that cap me and the baby can get as much medical attention as we want completely free! So I'm planning on having my migraines checked out, a skin check and any moles removed, maybe some allergy testing, napropath appointments, massage, etc etc etc. Plus our employer also gives you $300 in a health savings account that rolls over annually and can go toward paying medical bills too! So $2200 out of pocket to give birth! All the other plans would have been at least $2500 + any copays after that at $25 a pop and any prescriptions. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper per month than the plan we were thinking of. AND we don't have to switch to a family plan, one of us will be self and one will be self and child which again, is a heck of a lot cheaper than we were expecting. AND we found out that FSAs can be used for childcare so we're going to set that up too and save a bundle on childcare! It was a very, VERY good meeting.
Now if only my coworker would get me what I need so I could finish my work and go home and use some of that benefit time to get well.

I read/post mostly from my phone, so a lot of the special features of the forums are lost on me.

That about sums up my last 2 weeks. Sick with MS, sick with cold and MS, sick sick sick. So sick I don't even look at my computer. That's when DH knows I am really sick.
Blah.

Another one with a cold for the last week, and now that it is going away the nausea is kicking back up a gear. I'm so looking forward to getting out of this first trimester, and starting to feel more like myself again.

Haha. That reminds me of Sunday night. DH hadn't really been taking over doing everything until Sunday night because he was gone out of state for 2 days and then we were traveling to his annual busniess meetings and I had DD 24/7 by myself with no break (and she hadn't been sleeping) for another 2 days while he was in meetings. I think it was the combination of me crying because DD was crying, puking 3 times, and begging him to drive us to the grocery store because we needed food but I couldn't even bring myself to try and write down what we needed. He even put all the food away and let me go to bed early before even putting DD to bed (he has a hard time putting her to bed, so I usually do it.) I'm finally caught up on sleep and yesterday I got some real food made so I can actually go to the fridge and eat when I need to, and I am feeling a lot better today.
Also, I am so glad that I we haven't gotten any colds here. That would probably put us over the edge.
I am excited to have a rainy do-nothing day today, and then get to go to my acupuncture and chiro appt this afternoon!
