Pregnancy is so weird!

Man, I wish that was the case for me.  Usually I finally find something that sounds awesome (which is rare at the moment) and get all excited waiting to have it and then it's just meh.

In related news: KFC got rid of their twister wrap.  WTH?  I was so looking forward to that last night and had DH stop and they no longer carry it.  Sad.

Happy Monday Ladies! I am SO glad my workday is almost over, I have been so damn tired all day. Weekend was great, had naps both days! It was my turn to go to a wedding this weekend and it was good, just enjoyed my "mocktails" and the food. I am usually a drinker in those situations, so it was funny to watch people getting drunk around me rather than joining in.

I'm happy things are moving along, 8wks tomorrow. I am just dying for time to pass right now...I want to tell people, I want to feel like myself and I want to feel that little bean inside me! I don't usually want time to pass faster, but this is not one of those situations!

OK, that is all I have energy for, hope everyone has a good week!

Pauline, same thing happened to me. Test around 6 weeks, week of symptoms, then a scary week of nothing. We had an ultrasound and saw a perfect baby in there. I hope that you do the same!! My symptoms have been much less this pregnancy than with DD. Each is so different!

I'm really bad at keeping up on here, but I thought I'd join in the fun and ask for some prayers/thoughts/well-wishes!

I'm currently 10 weeks 5 days (the farthest possible for our May club--due May 1!). I had an ultrasound at 7w2d that showed a beautiful beating heart. I'm going for a repeat ultrasound this Thursday (11w1d) and I'm getting pretty nervous! I miscarried in May at 7w2d, and in general I am feeling very hopeful, but I can't help but freak out thinking about the ultrasound. I'm just really praying I see a healthy growing baby with a lovely, rapid heartbeat so I can start sharing the news! My husband and I haven't even told our parents this time around so I'm kinda bursting at the seams!

Maybe it's because I started a new job last week, but I really haven't noticed my symptoms as much, other than stupid, awful gas and bloating and fatigue.

Hi all,

So it was thanksgiving in Canada this weekend.  We did supper at my Grandparents on Saturday and on the drive out I planned on us telling our news.  I changed my mind though, as I think my uncle's girlfriend may be expecting #2 as well, (I know they've been "not trying to avoid") and didn't want to rub it in if they are not pregnant, or steal their moment if they are.  So, I guess we'll do the phone call thing after our 12 week ultrasound.  Other than the family thanksgiving thing, we did a pile of yard work this weekend and today I decided to do a turkey and stuffing for DH, DS and I  (kind of silly, but my Gramma did ham as she wasn't up to doing Turkey and it is NOT thanksgiving without Stuffing!!!) so now I have stock cooking and plans to do turkey pot pies for the freezer this week.

alyssamjo, I am just one day behind you and my symptoms are mostly gone as well, but I am still a bit tired and I have the same indigestion/bloating as you and I find it's keeping me up at night.  Not fun.

Excited for our 12 week scan in just a week and a half!

I just read through everyone's posts, but I can't comment on them all.  I am just playing catch up because of being so ill.

I am 7w 3 d right now and truly feeling nasty.  I have nausea (worse at night) and I am more of an airhead than normal.  I am putting things in weird places and not finding things that are right in front of me.  Plus, I am exhausted.  Today, I wore my jeans for a while and then when I had to take our DDs to ballet, I put my husbands sweatpants on.  Luckily, he's tall and narrow, so I fit into them without looking nuts, but I never wear anything like that out.  I need a belly band because I am not ready for maternity clothes.  The pooch is there, even though the bean is super-tiny.

This month is nuts for us.  Actually the next few months are crazy.  It's nothing bad, just that I homeschool our 3 munchkins and do the bookkeeping, webdesign, graphic design and booking for my singer/songwriter husband.  We are working on a large fundraising project and I am having to stay on top of that each day.  Luckily, Thursday evening and yesterday morning we planted our butts on the beach and my DH and DS went fishing while I watched our DDs run around and splash in the water.  That helped a great deal with just being able to chill.  I have 3 large fundraising events for local charities (with celebrities there) that I am expected at in April and May... I am already groaning because I will be HUGE at that point.  It's going to be interesting.

Our 6 year old DS still sleeps with us and we are going to have to transition him to his own bed over the last few months of pg.  DH plans on starting out sleeping with him, BUT the problem is that he sings 4-7 nights a week and I don't know how to deal with those nights he is gone. The DDs were easy when he was little because they could sleep together at 5 & 3.  At 11 & 9, they still choose to sleep in 1 twin bed together, even though they have 2 beds in their room.  DS has been the "baby," so this is a huge transition for him.

I haven't contacted the MW yet because I am still fearful of losing the baby.  I lost one in 2010 at 8 weeks, although I know that whatever occurred happened a few weeks earlier.  We were moving back to FL at the time and I probably carried something too heavy.  It's making me a little paranoid right now about carrying things I normally do.  I moved our TV armoire (sp?) today to try to fix the internet and then panicked for about an hour afterwards that I shouldn't have moved something that heavy.  I made DH move it back so I wouldn't be straining.

reikimama.. your life sounds like mine ;) my ex worked in music.. and ive done some promotion, am spending my bits of energy atm trying to do the pre-emptive stuff of setting up a charity (eg raising enough money for it to be a charity) so im busy flitting here there and everywhere getting people on board and working with ideas atm.. hoping to get some fundraising gigs going soon.. and media interest but also aware that im gonna be all swollen and preg looking soon .. (already am a bit). I also like you didnt contact the midwife til about 8 weeks due to fear about losing the baby and so on (also in an awful situation where ex wanted me to abort, after ive had constant miscarriages and i just cannot bare the thought) anyway.. i have booked everything now but it means at 9w4d i still havent seen midwife, but i am goin next wed.. and my first scan is a week after that.. sooooooooooooo nervous!!

reikimama (I think I spelled that right) - I have noticed that I am an airhead too lately, and I have been spilling EVERYTHING!

I had my first appt around 9 weeks and they were suppose to schedule me for around 12 weeks for my next appt but I just realized that my next appt day is Nov 1 and I will be almost 14 weeks! I think the receptionist screwed that up, ugh.

Thanks for the support, Ladies.    I totally started feeling nauseous at the movies last night and this morning I woke up with boobs like boulders!     Feeling much more positive.    Fingers crossed for appt on Thursday!     If we get a heartbeat and a healthy baby we are going to tell our daughter.    Very exciting!

That is insane!  Who would pay that?

Nstewart, Can you send some mashed potatoes and gravy my way please?  I can't imagine thanksgiving without turkey either!

Awe, that is sweet.

A girl from church is coming over to do some craft time with the kids in a little while.  She is so sweet to do that.  The girls love her so they will be excited.  I haven't told them yet so they wouldn't bug me about when she is coming.

Just wanted to say "hi" to everyone. smile.gif

The good news:  the ever-thoughtful DH planned a surprise anniversary trip last weekend for us.

The bad news:  he planned it before we found out I was PG.  Yes, I was the 10 week pregnant woman in Napa.

Wine, wine everywhere...here, try a taste!  Free tastings!!!  Champagne in our room.  Wine in our bed and breakfast every evening.  Mimosas offered at breakfast.

But YOU...Pregnant Woman Who Isn't Far Enough to Even Look Pregnant...CAN'T HAVE ANY OF IT !!!  biglaugh.gif

Luckily, I haven't had MS or much food aversions because DH spent a small fortune on a fancy chef's tasting 9 course dinner on Saturday night.  I would have felt terrible if I couldn't have eaten it.  And the hotel's breakfast was AMAZING.  Homemade baked goods, fresh fruit, baked fruit, savory main dish, homemade granola and yogurt.  I ate our money's worth!

So now, back to reality and cold cereal with milk for breakfast this morning.  greensad.gif

Hope you're all doing well and getting over any of the yucky MS !!!

I love that! Soooo sweet!

I am with you ladies who are nervous due to previous losses, I just keep waiting for time to pass. I am looking forward to my first mw appt which is next week. Just as long as she says my uterus is the size it should be, I will be happy.

Man, I just want food, food and more food.... sofa king hungry!

Yes, that is more then outrageous.  The sheet idea is an interesting one, or you could pick a solid color that matches the other items and maybe brings out the details of the animals?  That's what I did for DD, and I really liked it because it meant that when I was ready to change her room look, I didn't need to change the valence!

Just want you to know TJ that I went to that website and saw the NoJo Seababies collection.  OMG so cute.  So if I fall for that and decide I must have something from that collection, just know, it's all YOUR fault!  LOL  twins.gif

That is awesome!  He sounds like the kind of guy who would also plan a great babymoon!  My DH would never even think to plan something like that because it involves money...well, at least I don't think he would...we are couple that makes money decisions together on everything except the basics.

Timesaway, I am glad I am not the only one who is waiting.  I just didn't even want to consider it.  I will be 8w on Friday.  I will probably contact her on Monday.  wink1.gif   She is too far to actually attend the birth, so we will be having a U/C anyway.

I think that each one of us who has gone through M/C have to be nervous.  I feel for friends who have gone through more than one.  It's one of those quiet things that until you go through one, you don't realize how many women around you have gone through the same thing because it's not comfortable to talk about.

Promotions during this time are just funny.  I was at an event 2 weeks ago and just felt fat and nasty (humidity and heat in FL) because I wasn't telling anyone at the time.

Katey & Joey, I am chiming in late, but actually there are studies now that show a glass of wine every once in a while does not hurt the baby.  Not that it's socially okay, but there are a number of articles on the subject now.

This week, our family's modem went down and so I won't be online much.  Will catch up with you ladies later this weekend when the cable company finally gets out to the house to fix the thing!!!  Have a beautiful week!
