what's this??? third trimester nausea? anyone else have it, and what are you doing that helps?

this is a new one for me. but it feels just like the first trimester of all three of my pregnancies. 34 weeks, and way sensitive to smells and having that general green feeling. no puking, just meh. woke up this morning and had to smudge the house with sage because i could still detect a faint lingering of taco small in the house from dinner last night. i've been obsessed with mexi food all pregnancy and now i never want to see another taco again!

anyone having this and finding a decent remedy? i'm keeping meals small and frequent, trying to get enough protein, having a little cocktail of honey, lemon and acv with warm water which seems to soothe temporarily(but i can only drink so much of this). any other suggestions?

thanks sweet mamas! xo

Sorry!  I've had nausea throughout the whole pregnancy so I'm not much help.  I'm just trying to eat what I can, avoid smells as I can, and stay away from stuff that makes me want to vomit.  :(  Water is the worst offender for me....I just can't keep it down!

I find eating proteins help as well as taking magnesium.  And smaller more frequent meals versus waiting for the big 3.

I've started feeling naseous and having smell and food aversions recently, too. I'm 34 weeks as well. It's not bad enough to make me vomit, but its annoying. Don't have any advice for you. I don't remember going through this with ds. It stinks because I can't really change my diet up much due to the gdm.

About a week or two ago, so 33-34 weeks, I had that for a few days. It think for me, it was because of the smoke from the fires a couple hrs away. I text my MW and she said take charcoal, hydrate, and rest. I did and felt better. Could it be something in the air?

Tekez, my sis had that with her first, so sorry to hear that!

Thanks for chiming in sweet mamas. And I will try the magnesium. Hugs to all the mamas who have been feeling the same way! I do feel grateful that I got a break for a few months. I have upped my protein intake even more and I think it's helping. Only thing in the air I suppose is lots of pollen. Hope you all feel better soon! Ah, the home stretch ; )

I know exactly what you mean. This point in the 3rd trimester feels like 1st trimester all over again: nausea, exhaustion, etc. No one told me that would happen! I feel like such a wimp because all I want to do is nap :/

I'm feeling in a much better space about this so I had to jump on to share!

The nausea and exhaustion can be really sucky. No fun to be feeling blah! No fun AT ALL!!!

BUT! It is just our bodies asking us to take it easy. To nurture ourselves more. Drink plenty of water. Eat plenty of protein and nutrient-dense foods.Nap, sleep or simple laze around at any chance we get! REST!  HONOR where we are, which is the end of the road for our pregnancies. Our bodies, minds and souls have been working sooo hard for this little one. We need to just honor this, and be compassionate to ourselves.

This is my third pregnancy and I did not feel this way ever before. But I realize now that every pregnancy is different. There is no textbook pregnancy. We are on a unique path each time.

When we feel a sense of discomfort, our wise body is just calling out for us to listen and take the measures we need to feel better.

Tired? Make time for more rest.

Nauseous? Eat more snacks and up the protein even more. Make some simple soup to sip on throughout the day.

Body hurting? Take time for some gentle stretching if it feels good. Move more slowly. Take a lavender bath or warm shower.

Emotional? Let it flow, whatever the emotion; moodiness, tears, whatever. Just honor it! Don't judge yourself. Just breathe. Take time-outs in your bedroom for a minute and just sit and breathe.

Overwhelmed? ASK for HELP! It can be difficult, but you can do it, and it makes people feel good to be asked to help so you'll actually be making someone's day, as well as your own!

You alll are amazing, strong and beautiful women performing the greatest miracle known!!! You are growing a BABY inside of your wise and beautiful body, and are about to birth this baby out of you and into the world!

YOU ARE A GODDESS!!!!!

lots of love to you all~ Sunnystillheart.gif

Ugh, you and me both! I take long naps in the day sometimes, but the drawback is that I often can't get to sleep at night, and sometimes I wake up from afternoon naps feeling worse than I did before I slept. How can that be? I don't know!

The nausea has been hitting me hard in the past week or so (I'm almost at 36 weeks now). I wake up in the early mornings feeling nauseous, which I recognize is actually hunger, but trying to force food down over that feeling is horrible. Also I do vomit about once a day, which makes me feel better afterward (just like the first trimester). If I eat too much I will also be sick. Last night in the middle of dinner I had to run and be sick because I was trying to force myself to eat. Hadn't eaten much during the day and I felt terrible, so I though if I tried to eat more I would feel better. Nope! I felt worse.Honestly it's making me frustrated and grouchy, and sometimes when I feel particularly ill I will sit and cry. I'm ready for the baby to be out so I can eat like a normal person again.

.yes, nausea has returned for me over the last week or 2.  I don't remember late pregnancy nausea with my other 2 pregnancies.  It's not horrible, but just adds to the list of discomforts I have.
