I will be eating smaller meals more often and not stuffing an already slowed digestive system. That should help the gastric distress and heartburn considerably. I am also avoiding sugar and excess fat, but including lots of whole foods and rich things (like sour cream and cheese) in small amounts. I will also get the U/S that my practitioner may recommend, because waiting until the third trimester had unforseen consequences. (I just posted about it in the Ultrasound thread, so I won't go into it here...)
And exercise! I will do something every day. There are aqua aerobics classes 4-5 times a week at my gym and I could go right after work with DD in their childcare. And when it is too cold or rainy to be in the pool, I will walk on the treadmill, do the elliptical or take Zumba Gold (offered twice a week - fun like Zumba, but without the high intensity and jumping).
I also have a therapist relationship in place in case get depressed or anxious. I really let it run away with me last time and it has taken all this time to get to a balanced place again.
I will try to enjoy each stage of pregnancy and babyhood, because this will likely be my last time. I rushed it last time because I was excited and eager... I will write more down. I actually want to start a pregnancy journal. Can't decide between computer or paper...
It will be different because I already have a child this time and I need to continue to take good care of her. Last time I felt awful and let all my responsibilities slide, but I don't have the luxury of that this time around. I will slow down, but I will continue to work and function. Because I have to, and because I want to.
I also won't go crazy buying stuff. I already have everything from DD, including an unused pack and play (maybe for my office?) and I way overbought cloth diapers... We never got into the standard size because we lived abroad when she was 1 and used disposies.
Edited to add: I have to find a good midwife too! I went birth center last time, and will not be doing that again. I want one practioner, maybe with a backup, but I didn't like bouncing around between 4 different midwives.
