What are your symptoms so far?

I really want to ask this question because I get so nervous about the MS thing. I have a terrible fear of vomiting, and with my last pregnancy I never threw up, but was pretty nauseous for the 1st trimester. However, I didn't start feeling much for symptoms with my last pregnancy until about 7 weeks... it's only almost 5 weeks for me now and I am already feeling it.

Is this normal for a 2nd pregnancy? How are you ladies feeling so far?

Not that I know firsthand since I'm working on my first kid, but I am told that every pregnancy is different.

I am at 5 weeks, 1 day and so far I have a bit of nausea, and some cramping, but the dominant symptom is being sooo tired. We shall see how it goes. eyesroll.gif

Hi,

I think you have hope of not having MS to the point of vomiting.  I felt nausea with all 4 pregnancies but I never got to the point of vomiting.  I did get a stomach virus with my first and third pregnancies which caused me to vomit repeatedly for 12 hours, but thats different.  The stomach viruses seemed to make up for all the time I got away with not vomiting shrug.gif   Anyway I think theres hope for you. smile.gif

I've got light cramps and weird occasional pelvic twinges, occasional nausea, breast tenderness, and quite a lot of fatigue. I honestly don't remember being very symptomatic in my first trimester with my first pregnancy.

I'm 6 weeks today but MS started at 5 weeks 2 days here! A couple of days I was stuck on the couch all morning because I would have puked had I moved. Then in the afternoon - gone. However it is getting more under control as I force myself to eat something every 2 hours at least. I even have to eat in the middle of the night so I can feel semi normal in the morning!

Last pregnancy MS started later, a little after 6 weeks. It wasn't nearly as strong as I have it this time.

Other than being nauseous, sometimes I get cramping, not that often this week though.

mLeroux, you're absolutely right. I'll take nausea over vomiting anyday, lol! And I feel a bit more hopeful that that will be a reality hearing that most of you are already (and have in the past) experiencing it as well.

I think it's fantastic that we get to "share" our pregnancies with eachother in the June DDC, because we call all relate to one another since we're generally going through the same things at the same time (with obvious variations, of course). I never had that with my first!

With my first pregnancy, my diet was not great. I remember going hours without eating because the nausea was so bad, and I thought if I ate I would puke. Then when I did eat, it was usually something not-so-great like Chik-Fil-A or some processed food (and LOTS of ice cream... Ben 'n' Jerry's to be exact).

This time around, I've been making a serious effort to stay clear of processed, overly-sugary foods. I've also been trying to eat every two hours like many of you have said, and it really does help! Even if it's just a handful of almonds and some dried fruit, it helps to have something nourishing in my body.

I'm exactly five weeks today.  I have had some weird not-quite-crampy pelvic cramps.  Perhaps a couple tinges of nausea, but nothing to shake a stick at.  I've been a little fatigued, but my husband dragged me out of the house to run yesterday and we knocked out 2.5 miles no problem.  I hope I can keep that up as long as possible!

I'm one of those that would welcome some nausea and overt signs of pregnancy, as our first ended in m/c, so we'll see.  First appointment is on the 15th...should be interesting.  I'm going with an OB/GYN (which seems contrary to 75% of the forum), but its a small practice and he came highly recommended.  I can't wait to see the little squeaker.

I'm way crazy early....3w3d, to be exact. My symptoms (which have been the same through all of my pregnancies - and also what tips me off to test as early as I do) are super heavy, full breasts and some form of m/s. A little heartburn, a little bit of aversions and a little nausea.

MayasMama....I actually have a true vomiting phobia - it's awful. I'm absolutely terrified of it. I've found that I handle morning sickness well, though. I don't actually throw up, and while I'm miserable still - I'm not as scared, because I know it's for good reason. I'm much more terrified of my children getting sick, though - or even catching the vomiting bug.

...and I have to say, for good measure - SO grateful not to be overly tired like I was with my last pregnancy. That was brutal!

I have emetophobia too!! I will admit, it's a lot better than it was years ago, but still if anyone around me gets sick.... I freak right out. I remember one night my DD threw up because she had a cold and swallowed too much mucous, and I was trying SO hard to comfort her because obviously it really freaked her out (she has never actually had a stomach bug), but I was shaking uncontrollably and she could totally sense it! :(

But yes, it does seem like it's easier to deal with it during pregnancy because of the reason behind it. With my first, there were a few times that I was really really nauseated to the point where I felt like I could have thrown up... but I just curled up on the couch and didn't move... or ate greasy fast food (yuck, I know) until it passed.

I thought that for some reason I was going to get away with not being super sleepy....except that today I feel like I've hit a wall! Other than that I have had some strange food cravings (peanut butter and pickle sandwiches...several of them, HAD to be eaten...which is one of the things that clued me in that I may be preggers).  Mostly though, it's just being crampy.  So far I haven't been really nauseous, but I always eat very frequent meals, so that could have something to do with it.  The breast tenderness and fullness too.  I have a lot of very mild symptoms...I really hope that they stay mild! My best guess is that I am 5 weeks and 3 days.

5 weeks along today and I'm starting to get nausea on and off.  I am surprised by how intense it already though.  It seems to kick in when I'm hungry but also after I eat.  I also go between having lots of energy to being dead tired.  I get insomnia really bad during pregnancy though and they may be part of the fatigue!  Six of the last seven nights I've spent at least 2 hours awake in the middle of the night.  Not complaining though.  I don't care what the pregnancy symptoms are...it is worth it to have another amazing baby.

Yes! The pregnancy insomnia! That is another thing that prompted me to test.  Nature's way of preparing us for having a newborn I guess winky.gif

I'm 5w5d and M/S has really shown up for me. It pretty much started the day I found out. Which was 4w. But it was manageable. I could still eat normally. But for the last 3 days it's been so tough to eat. But it really is the only thing that helps. It really sucks to force down the food initially, but 20 minutes later there is a bit of relief. I wouldn't say it goes away completely though. I'm pretty much on the verge all day. Ugh.. It's all worth it in the end though! My mom and my MIL has been helping me with my 2 year old. Let me just say how BLESSED I am to have family close by to help when I feel sick. My laundry is caught up and my house is clean.. Seems impossible sometimes to do it when your sick! Thank God for them.

My last pregnancy I was sick around this time but it came with a vengeance and it seemed like there was no end in sight. But this one seems different so far. I also have super sore boobs this time around, whereas with my last pregnancy I didn't! Weird! Maybe cause I've breastfed before and my boobs are really preparing now. Who knows. Every pregnancy is different right?

I also had bought a chewable prenatal vitamin cause I always psyche myself out when I swallow pills. Takes me forever to swallow them. But it sure is proving hard to eat the chewable vitamins when I feel sick! Blech..

My edd is 6/7 if you go by the conception date, or 6/5 if you go by LMP.

The pregnancy hormones hit me hard! I decided to test because I felt different and my pee smelled weird. I started having insomnia right away, the kind where you wake up early in the morning (between 3 and 6am) and can't go back to sleep. It was good because it made me take going to bed at a reasonable hour and exercising in the early morning light (to treat depression/anxiety/insomnia) more seriously. I'd been trying to start that for months. Now I wake up every morning raring to go even if I'm kind of exhausted, too. Weird combination.

Also, at first I was filled with floods of anxiety for a few days, then floods of joy for a few days. Now it's balanced out a bit, but on balance I'm happier than usual.

By this time last time, I was already feeling yucky. Now I can feel the pregnancy hormone and it makes me feel different, but I'm not very nauseated. I'm craving all healthy stuff (leafy greens, beans, salads), just like last time.

I really identify with you this morning! (Been awake since 3am!) I'm getting so much done every day, with just periods of exhaustion.  I usually love sweets and have to fight the urge to not eat too many. I haven't even desired sweets this week.  No cravings yet, but last pregnancy I craved chicken ceasar salad!  (At that time it had been years since I had even eaten chicken ceasar salad, but suddenly I couldn't get enough of it!)  And all night my nipples were killing me!  Never mind what I said previously about being desensitized!

There must be something in the air. I keep on waiting for the fatigue to induldge in a nap, but I toomwake up in the morning with so much energy. I'm also craving healthy foods and don't really crave the junk. Orange juice has been tasting weird lately.

The fatigue and exhaustion has hit hard here! I have no energy, and I'm so tired. I'm also noticing that I'm really emotional. No morning sickness here yet at 4 weeks, but that usually starts around 6-7 weeks for me.

The only symptoms I've had are breast tenderness, abdominal cramps and a little more hungry. One thing I noticed right away was my belly. It got super hard right away and definitely looks a lot bigger than prepregnancy. It is funny since I've actually lost .2 pounds since getting pregnant.

Hi Everyone!

at less than 7 dpo (more like 4 or 5 dpo) I started having symptoms. I know! crazy! all the literature I've read told me it was going to be a lot later then that. I wasn't symptom watching either. We've been very casual about ttc and I've gone months without really thinking about it until my period showed up. But this month was so different. I ovulated 3-4 days earlier than expected... and a few days later my breasts were full and sore. Also, I suddenly started getting very nauseous randomly. We would go out and order and big plate of sushi at a resturaunt and I couldn't eat it... or my mother-in-laws cooking (we were staying with her at the time and I felt terrible! I didn't want to offend her). I still didn't clue in completely... I was really focused on moving, etc. At 9 days dpo we moved into a new big house and I was very irritable and tired but again chalked that up to circumstances. I clued in that something was up though when my room mates dog barked at my cat and set me off (I was crying and yelling) The next day I went to the store to get groceries and all I wanted to buy was beef! This is strange for me because I have been a vegetarian for a long time and eat a mostly raw / vegan diet. I confirmed I was pregnant that day and have since continued to experience nausea, breast soreness, tiredness, food cravings, strong emotions (crying over tv shows!) and light cramps. I've been told by my husband that my hearing and smell have obviously gone up since I keep complaining about noises and smells no one else can sense. I'm at 5 weeks now and a little worried that symptoms may become a little stronger but I'm not too concerned, I will handle whatever comes my way! Ginger tea is helping, as is massages from my husband and understanding room mates. Excited to see what comes next. People joke there might be twins since symptoms are so strong so fast but I know it really could just mean I have one crazy active little bean.
