Using doublers/insert in place of prefold with cover? Esp w/ Newborn

I got a nice amount of bumgenius/flip doublers from a colleague and she said she's enjoyed using them inside a cover, esp. when her daughter was a newborn. Do a lot of people have success and ease with this?

I also wanted to know your favorite covers that work for a newborn!

I've used inserts in covers like this, just make sure they're not microfiber as that is not okay next to baby's skin. For a newborn using inserts like this will result in more frequent cover changes.

What's the best type of diaper, in *your* experience for a newborn. I'd like to hear some experiences before I invest or register. I have a bunch of pockets for shortly after the newborn period.

We got some Charlie Banana xs and really liked them. They fit longer and were easier to stuff than the Fuzzi Bunz xs.

Like pp said, no microfiber against the skin.

I'll have to look again at my inserts. From what I recall one side is like regular cotton and the other side looks more like terry.
