What's in breast milk?

Hi

I am wondering if there is a way to test what is in breastmilk.  I am taking 6.5 mg ioderol/iodine and have been since I was first pg.  I take this for thyroid.  I developed a large nodule on my thyroid.  I am pretty sure if I doubled my iodine that the nodule would decrease.  But I dont want to detox out any chlorine, bromine or flouride.    I can take a 50 mg loading test, but I will need to pump and dump for 48 hours due to detox.

My question - would chlorine, bromine, flouride, iodine get into my breast milk?

Would there be any heavy metals in breast milk?

I have two people tell me that heavy metals are not in breast milk.  I dont know if it's worth the risk unless somehow I can find documentation.

Thanks.

Check out this book.  The author sent her breastmilk to a lab to see what contaminants were in it.  It sounds very interesting.  I hope you find the info you need.
