Loss of symptoms at 7 weeks. Worried:(

Hi everyone,
I'm Pauline.    I'm about 7 weeks pregnant after having a miscarriage in May (blighted ovum).    I have a daughter, Sophia, who is 6.     I was feeling very reassured around weeks 5-6 as I was experiencing lots of pregnancy symptoms, intense nausea, fatigue, dizziness, hunger, etc....    Then suddenly, two days ago all of those symptoms seemed to vanish.    Now the only thing I feel is slightly sore nipples and a slight food aversion.   This decrease in symptoms makes me so worried.    I have an ultrasound on Thursday to confirm heartbeat - I insisted on the early ultrasound even though the midwife practice I am going with doesn't generally do them.    Anyone else experience a loss of symptoms suddenly?   I could sure use some reassurance.

Hi Pauline! It is not uncommon to have really strong or lots of symptoms one week and a lot less the next week. I know I have experienced the same thing this pregnancy and with my first pregnancy. I hope you can relax a bit and get some peace of mind from your U/S on Thursday!

Thank you.    Miscarriage has really ruined any trust I had in the whole process.    I'm hoping to feel more confident after the heartbeat confirmation.

hug.gif I can understand that and I always worry a little bit too when my symptoms are less.

Mine have been coming and going, and yes, when I feel better, then I feel worse for worrying about disappearing symptoms. :( I brought it up with my midwife and she said it is so normal during the first trimester - either you feel like crap, or you feel like crap because you don't feel like crap (my words, haha)

Sending you lots of confident thoughts, Pauline!

From the chat thread-

Pauline, same thing happened to me. Test around 6 weeks, week of symptoms, then a scary week of nothing. We had an ultrasound and saw a perfect baby in there. I hope that you do the same!! My symptoms have been much less this pregnancy than with DD. Each is so different!

Hey pauline, i had a miscarriage in the summer aswell (one of many) and i like you keep really worrying everytime my symptoms change.

Again like you at first i felt REALLY sick, reallllly sore breasts, and lots of things.. but at about 7 weeks ish the nausea became less but got replaced by bursts of actual being sick and waves of nausea instead.. and breasts just completely stopped hurting for a few days, which really made me worry. Im feeling a little safer now as altho i feel less sick then i did still, my boobs have really started hurting again today and ive deveoped spd just to add to the fun ;) ha.. its amazing how it feels nice to feel awful sometimes :P

Anyway pauline, i guess my message is your  not alone, anyone who has miscarried before will say they understand.. im also having trouble with midwives refusing to do earler scan (altho glad u got yours) even with my history.. altho apparently if i just speak to my dr they mite do it.. think im almost too scared to know the truth.. prefer going on in  a fantasy land (perhaps)

Anyway sorry rambling now, really hope this pregnancy continues to term and creates a healthy happy addition to your family, will have my fingers crossed for you, lots of love xxx

Thanks Mamas.
My symptoms started coming back again yesterday - not as strongly but still definitely feeling nauseous and sore boobs again.   Timesway I'm hoping for a healthy pregnancy for you too!     Miscarriage really does steal some of the joy from the next pregnancies.    I really want to find a happy medium where I am honoring my worry and sad experience but also allowing myself to feel the excitement and joy.    Looking forward to my ultrasound on Thursday.    I really did have to fight tooth and nail for it.    It's my first time with midwives and I was surprised that I had to struggle so much to get my needs met.    I'm thinking it might just be a billing issue for them.    Anyway, I got the appointment after freaking out on them a bit on the phone ( and 3 weeks of back and forth) and I'm hoping that when I meet them in person (I only really dealt with the receptionist and the nurse) that I will be more impressed with their quality of care.

I had a lot of up and downs with this pregnancy.  Scared me the first time at 5-6 weeks, not so much this week (8 weeks), especially after a good bout of MS.  Seems like just when I think it has all stopped, it starts again!  But MS is about my only sign I am pg right now, so it makes me a little anxious when it disappears.

Good luck at your US on Thursday!

I had that with this pregnancy!  I started feeling bad a few days after conception... 9 days before my period was due, and stayed feeling really awful/fatigued/yucky for weeks.  Right around the end of week 6, it lifted and I felt great.  It concerned me, because I have had one miscarriage (out of my prior 5 pregnancies) and that is exactly how I felt.  For my miscarriage I lost the baby at 4-5 wks, but didn't know it was lost until I started bleeding at 8 wks.  So I hurried to the doctor-my appt was at 7wks5days.  This baby looks great!  He sort of laughed and told me to go home and enjoy feeling well-that it really wasn't anything to worry about, morning sickness can come and go and is no indication for concern.
