Midwife apt today

had another check up today with my home birth midwife today.  Everything was normal and she did a membrane sweep.  She said I'm about 3cm dilated...  I know it could still be another two weeks before I hold my baby girl, but it does feel good to know that something IS INDEED moving towards having a baby!

Tomorrow I have an appointment with the midwives at Duke just to say hi I guess.  I might ask her to do another membrane sweep.

Here's hoping you don't make it to tomorrow's visit still pregnant!

Yay 3cm is an awesome start!!! smile.gif I Hope the sweep gets you going!!!!

had a lot of great contractions last night... but I'm still snuggling a baby on the inside.  Hubby and I did get a chance to hang out with his brother last night.  We had a pretty good time staying up late, laughing and being ADULTS! thumbsup.gif

I realized last night she could possibly be born on 10-11-12.  Even more neat if we could manage birth at precisely 8:09 on 10-11-12

How's it going Pinkbruise? Any more progress?

My contractions are worse today than ever before, and I had a little bit of bloody mucus tonight. It occurs to me that late pregnancy is the only time you excitedly look for bloody goop in your underwear orngtongue.gif

I too am rooting for 10-11-12!!!

Nothing exciting here.  I had my parallel care midwife do another membrane sweep yesterday.... and got nothing out of that.  Well, she did say I was  REALLY GOOD 3cm... so I did make a teeny bit of progress between Monday and Tuesday.  My home birth midwife is coming by today to do one more membrane sweep today.  I might also try some castor oil in the next few hours.

My good friend/doula/birth assistant is going out of town Saturday through Thursday.  I'm hoping that little miss Sage Opal makes her debut before then.  I have a couple other friend/doula/birth assistants who would support me fabulously through birth . . . but this is who I've been planning to birth with!

I went for a walk yesterday evening and felt really achy, crampy and weepy...  I shuffled into the house after my walk and flopped on the couch and cried a little while DH rubbed my feet.  Then we watched a Louis C.K. stand up show and went to bed.  I was really hoping to wake up in labor... but instead I got a good, cozy nights sleep.  shrug.gif

And DH's family is starting to call daily "just to see!!"  ugh.  I feel like changing my voicemail greeting to something like "If we haven't called YOU we haven't had a baby, and no we, or my midwife don't know when it's going to be.  So if you want to talk about something else, or take me out to lunch, please call back or leave a message!"

Ooooo sounds like this may be it! I hope it is Pink!

Micro: Bloody show is always the start of labor for me! And yes so funny - you dread blood of any kind your entire preg until the end when you start looking for it again!

ooh, can I use this? lol... everyone is hounding me now and getting all anxious...so sick of it!  yay for plug loss!

I feel ya on losing your doula...I jsut lost my midwife.  We knew from the start that she would be gone the 10th -15th but i've never gone over, so it wasn't an issue.  So while i like her backups and know them well, it's not quite the same, is it?  I'm really ready with you.

Very exciting Pink!  Hope this is it for you!  Sending lots of good labor vibes your way!

I know what you mean about wanting to change your voicemail.  I've pretty much stopped taking calls from my mom.  She calls 10+ times per day to see if I'm in labor yet and she's starting to make it all about her wanting to start her trip here and her feeling anxious and restless....like I'm not.  I can't be her support for this...I've got enough on my plate as it is.  I purposefully haven't taken her calls for 2 days and now she's started with emails.....eyesroll.gif.  Geesh!  The baby will come when it comes!

a little more progress!

My midwife was just here and did another membrane sweep.  She said I'm a little more dilated and my amniotic sac is bulging out!  I imagine that makes it a little more susceptible to breaking, eh??

my midwife is rooting for me to go into labor soon because her MIL will be flying in to visit tomorrow. hahaha.  I'll see what I can do to help her out

Micro and pink- doesn't bloody show mean labor is imminent in the next 2 days?? So excited for you to!!!

I agree on the irony...when you think you're preggers and once u become pregnant, blood is the worst sign. Now...it is the best sign and I excitedly wipe, looking for bloody show..... So weird!!eyesroll.gif

I'll be stalking mothering to see if we have any 10-11-12 babies from you 2!!

I had no loss of plug & no bloody show until I was well into labor. *shrug*

I got swept today & am also hoping v v v v hard for a 10.11.12 birthday! I had lots of gunk come out and lots of good contractions all day, but not sure if they are "real" or not. They are definitely regular and painful, but wtf knows? Guess I will eventually find out :p My sweep was at 9.30 am, so my body has had all day to rev itself up. I'm HOPING & GOOD LUCK to the rest of you!!!!

Good luck ladies!!!!! Sounds like we have a few promising prospects here!!!!!

well, 7.5 hours into 10-11-12.... doesn't feel like today will be her birthday.  but WHO KNOWS!?

how much mucus makes up the mucus plug?  Yesterday I lost a HUGE gob of it... it could have filled a 1/2 cup measuring cup.  huge.  and I've been loosing mucus since!

I have the same question! I have lost ask much mucus but it just keeps coming. Blech.
I too feel like nothing will happen today. Had a few contractions at 5 p last night, and after that, nothing. Slept well, nothing at all in middle of night. Sigh.
Officially "overdue" today.

Oops that should say 'so much mucus', not 'ask'. WTF autocorrect?
