Harrison, AR area Midwives

[I Love My Life]

Hello all. :) I'm from central AR, but within a couple of weeks will be moving up to the Harrison area with my family. I am looking for recommendations for a homebirth midwife up there. I know that there is a Candace Clarke actually in Harrison, however I can't seem to find anything about her except that she's a licensed midwife there. Can anyone give me more information on her or other midwives up there?

Also, any recommendations for non-vaccine friendly pediatricians (or, better yet, family doctors) in the area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Welcome to the area!  I'm an hour east of you in Mtn. Home. :D

I've met with the CNM that works with Dr. Taylor and I like her a lot.  She's also an IBCLC and I saw her in that capacity (and she was great, she actually came in to see me during her vacation b/c I was so worried!).  I also considered using her for the birth of my 3rd baby (2nd VBAC) b/c we were unsure if we could afford another homebirth (our insurance doesn't cover them), but I ultimately decided against it since she was A) an hour away and B) the hospital tour we did was pretty hostile, even though I know she'd have been wonderful.  Of course, I can't remember her name to save my life, but she should be fairly easy to google.

Hi. I don't know if you have made your move yet, but I also moved to this part of Arkansas. I am actually a little further south of Harrison than Candy. My name is Diana Nash and I am a midwife that recently moved here from Texas. I have been assisting Candy since I got my Arkansas license. I have worked with a lot of midwives from the Houston area and it seems like she practices similarly to many of the midwives I know. I've helped with about 8 births. I have seen her encourage women to use water as a comfort measure several times, but have only actually had one waterbirth (my percentage was about 80-90% in Texas. The last birth I attended, the mom wanted to turn onto hands and knees and she was less that excited about this. In the end the mom ended up staying on her back on the bed to birth her baby.
