Looking suggestions for modifying pants to allow for squatting to pee.

Any advice on how to cut a slit so that the pants will be out of the way when they squat on the potty? This is for 16-month-olds. It's getting a bit chilly for naked time.

It might be easier to start from scratch - if you use two arms from an old sweater or sweatshirt (we did it with wool for the absorbency and non-stinkiness, but heavy sweatshirt material is also pretty absorbent), you let them overlap in front and in back, and connect them to a waistband. So the crotch is not sewn together at all, but the overlapping stays closed when the child is standing, and opens when they crouch down.  This can lead to some indecent exposures, but it is great for at home or at night.  I'll try to post a pic.

Cut lower in the front and higher in the back. Any pants will open when she squats.

If you sew, split pants are ultra easy.
