Hello!! GBS in urine culture...help!!

Hello everyone My name is Heather and I am currently 15 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I have a beautiful 2 year old daughter and I am a middle school computer teacher. About a month ago I had the panel of bloodwork that they make you get every time you are pregnant. I also had a urine culture which detected Group B Strep. The doctors office called and told me I had a UTI and I took Ampicillin for it. I did not know at that time that it was group b strep I was wondering if this happened to anyone out there? Some of the stuff you read online is pretty scary...my questions are....If this has happened to you, did you keep having urine cultures throughout your pregnancy? Is there anything else I can do to slow down the growth of bacteria? I'm just nervous because I did not have this with my daughter. Also, my doctor is not worried about this at all and told me not to worry. It would just be nice to hear some success stories...I know that the chances of passing this are low, but I'd still like to hear from other mommies who have gone through this. Any info you have is much appreciated....have a great day everyone:)
