Talking to Your Baby

Do you talk to your baby? I remember when I was pregnant with my first, I sang to her (a whole lot of Ani Difranco songs, mostly), but I don't remember talking much to my second child in the womb. With two kids, I want to try to make the time to sing to the new baby, to encourage the baby to stick. (Okay, a bit woo woo but whatevs.) Anyone else talking to their baby already? I know it gets easier as pregnancy progresses. If you are singing to your baby, what are you singing?

Yeah, as pregnancy progresses I talk to my babes but specifically singing to them I don't think I've ever done. We do listen to a wide variety of music all day every day though smile.gif .

I definitely talk to my baby! I know their ears don't develop until 16 ish weeks or something like that, but I don't know, I have a human growing inside of me, I already want he/she to know that I love them so much already! And they might not be able to hear me but at least it keeps me happy that I'm trying! And gets me used to it so I will do it more when the baby is bigger! And I love to sing to my son, so I will sing to this baby a lot!

Yeah, b/c this isn't a physical thing only, it's emotional and spiritual as well (at least IMO it is). They feel that good energy we create and what soul making this journey wouldn't love that smile.gif . Good for mommy, good for baby heartbeat.gif .

I love that you sang Ani DiFranco to the baby in your belly!

I'm with mamacatsbaby. I talk to and meditate on this future baby daily. I also really like Belleruth Naparstek's Pregnancy Affirmations (which you can download for free at that link, along with guided imagery!) I know for sure it's good for me and helps me stay positive and focused.
