Can you tell me about how much it's going to cost me to get the required curriculum for the state of NY? I'm really lost with this whole process. He seems to be learning more at home with me during homework then he dose in his regular classes. The teacher he has this yr dose not seem to know anything about special needs children. Please can someone help me.

Hi there! We have just started hs'ing our 6 year old with high functioning autism.  Many will agree that home is the best place for our spectrum kiddos to learn.  At home they have the freedom to learn at their own pace in the way that makes the most sense for them.  You can do it! I'm in OR so I am not familiar with the laws for NY, but I found this link for NY homeschooling laws:

http://www.nyhen.org/RegsSum.htm

Also, I belong to a Yahoo group that's about homeschooling Aspergers/PDD-NOS/HFA kiddos.  There are some veteran homeschoolers on that list who are a wealth of information.  I'll send you the link to the group via pm because I'm not sure if it's okay to link to it here.

Best of luck!
