Wierd periods

My periods have always been like clockwork, but the last few months they've been wierd! I am breastfeeding, but that made no difference with my last baby I breastfed. Anyway, pretty much ever since I got my period back after giving birth, its been different. It will come days or even a week later than it should. This time it was 3 days late, and what has me even more concerned is the fact that it acted as if it was going to stop on day 6 like usual (bleeding nearly stopped and blood was not bright red), then it started back up again! It usually lasts 6 days, but this is day 8 and it is still red and there is a moderate amount of it!

So, what the heck is going on, why am I no longer like clockwork!? I'm only 22 btw. I do occasionally drink RRL tea, I know I need to be more consistant with that. I've also read maca can help regulate the reproductive processes and I take that occasionally too.  Other than those things I don't know what else to do to help the situation or what could be wrong!  I just hope so much it is not something serious.

Thoughts and advice appreciated :)

Thanks!

That does sound a little off if you are 22. Have you had a good check up since you had your babies? Some things can be worth checking out, such as benign cysts or the possibility of endometriosis. Do you have a good midwife or MD that does well woman care?
