Oak Meadow Users...What level?

 My son is 9 and a delayed reader, I don't really push it until 7 or 8 anyway. He knows all his letters and a lot of their sounds. He has trouble putting it al together to read though. He is starting to read some words (3 letter words mostly). His handwriting is not stellar but he knows how to write all the letters and numbers. He can count high and he is doing multi digit addition and subtraction with out carrying or borrowing.

 I was looking at first grade for him but maybe it would be too easy? Second grade probably would be too hard and he would miss some of the literacy instruction he needs. Do any of you current or former oak meadow homeschoolers have any suggestions?

Honestly, if it were me choosing, I'd go second grade.  however, you did't mention when you are planning on ordering? Soon or next fall? somewhere in between??  with being able to read C/V/C words, I'd be really hesistant on doing first grade.

i tried to post yesterday but was having some issues. i would go with 2cd as well. You can adjust the LA a bit if you need to but it sounds like 2cd would fit just right. If anything you might need to add MORE math.
