Anybody interested in doing a birth bead swap? « Back to Group Discussions

I participated in a bead swap with my daughter in 2008 and it was so neat to get beads and blessing from so many other mamas in the group (many of which, I'm still in regular contact with 4 years later!)

I can't remember when we did it, but I remember that everyone mailed all their beads (plus a SASE for return) to one mama who sorted them all out and sent out a package of beads back to each mama. We were a July club and I think the packages got mailed back out by the beginning of June (in case the beg. of the month mama's went early ), so I think we sent our beads to her in May. For us that would translate to beads being mailed to the coordinator by Feb and sent back out in March.

I strung my beads on a necklace and wore it during labor. Amazing physical reminder of the other mama's going through the exact same thing. Super neat.

Anyway, is anyone else interested?

I participated in a bead swap with my son, and I'd love to do it again! I still wear the beads sometimes, especially to events involving him (like his birthday)!

I was going to ask that earlier, but I wasn't sure when to start planning something like that. I would be willing to organize/co-organize, but be forewarned, I don't have the best track record with planning type things.

Yay! I'd be happy to co-organize!! I think we've got a bit of time, so we could probably even put it off until after the holidays and then do a last call for sign ups mid-january and go from there!

I was going to ask/suggest that we wait until after the holidays. That way, everyone has a chance to wind down from the excitement/insanity of it all, and people who may be MIA for family gatherings will have a chance to participate.
