ooooooh my- this could be a long list.
since i'm pretty dramatically and extremely sensitively gluten-intolerant (i flare up and get sick if my food is cooked in the same oven as wheat, cut on the same cutting board, cooked in a pan that once cooked wheat, it's pretty horrible), i have to be creative with my pregnancy cravings, and usually make them all myself.
lately though, WINGS. spicy, crispy, salty wings. with a small side of fries. and then more wings....
i came out of chocolate around 20 weeks, but it was Scharfenberger 62% dark chocolate, and a lot of it.
sharp cheese and fresh apples (i live in New England, and right now they are AMAZING)
homemade chocolate ice cream (maple syrup, local raw cream, and organic cocoa and vanilla- i don't share)
mango sorbet (mangoes, lime juice, a touch of honey, sometimes raspberries)
and i never bake or eat baked goods, but this pregnancy, especially the last 3 weeks, i've been baking up a storm.
almond flour spice cookies
almond flour/quinoa flour vanilla and spice cakes
pumpkin breads (w/ butternut squash)
almond flour chocolate chip scones
cinnamon raisin scones
and tomorrow i'm baking a quinoa chocolate cake and a vanilla quinoa cake for my daughter's tea party on Wednesday.
Funny thing is, it's the baking and the smells that make me happier than actually eating most of the foods. I've been avoiding the frosting as much as possible, and only having a piece here and there of the treats. but i like to have them on hand!
So i guess the real crazy and persistent craving is WINGS. my husband picks up some for me every week from Whole Foods. and i deep fry and spice them myself. and they always satisfy.
