It was nice, thanks. We opted for Red Robin since it was close and there was a snow storm heading in. It hit the spot, but I'm a little sad to realize that my stomach is shrinking already as my burger totally left me stuffed (normally this isn't the case). Oh well. I'm hoping that I can con DH into another dinner out this weekend since we went to low key. We'll see.

Melany - sorry to hear about your dog. I hope they get things figured out soon. I have an 11-yr-old cattle dog mix who has really started showing her age over the past year. No seizures yet, but we did have a scary incident about a month ago where we just couldn't wake her up. We were about to pack up for the vet when she finally came around. Nothing since - just as ornery as normal winky.gif. So scary to go through.

AFM - it's been a quiet week. I'm still not sleeping well, but a little better. Now if I could just get DS from waking up at dawn it might help. We've had snow the past few days, which is reminding me that I need to go shopping in search of thicker tops for the cooler weather that it to come. I have a little time seeing it's going to be back in the high 60s next week, but good to be prepared. Now all I need is motivation to get going. I'm not sure it's going to happen today.

We're planning on taking DS to some trick-or-treat things this weekend, so that will be fun. He's going as a train conductor w/a Thomas candy bucket. Not too creative, but it's going to have to work for this year. He loves Thomas, so I thought I'd make the most of it. And, he can wear the overalls even after Halloween is over. That's a big planning ahead for me. DH & I aren't dressing up, but I do have a cute shirt that has a skeleton chest w/a fetus skeleton (sounds creepy when I write it out) on it. I just need to iron the decal on a shirt and I'm good to go! Hope everyone has a good weekend.

maydaymom10, I was thinking of picking up one of those skelly things, but I think it's probably too late to get one, at this point. I was considering grabbing myself a black tee and some glow in the dark fabric paint and just drawing it on, myself. My artistic skills aren't so insignificant that I couldn't pull it off, but my energy levels are so badly shot, it's hard for me to even get work done on my daughter's costume. :P

cabbitdancer: I was thinking of making this for myself and hubby. I have a black maternity shirt that one of the seams ripped on the sleeve, so if I paint it up it is no big loss.

Neato! That would work perfectly! Now, if I can just get my butt in gear and get things done! I know Target has some long-sleeved tees for about $8. I was thinking of picking one of those up, but maybe I'll use one of my older shirts, instead.

I was hoping to do a Fairly Odd Parents theme, this year. My daughter was all for being Timmy, too... until we showed her the original Star Wars trilogy and it was all over. XD Maybe next year, and baby Bun can be Poof.

My DD had her halloween school dance this evening.  wow what fun.  It lasted 2 1/2 hours and we were treated to "Gagnam Style" on the over-loud music system not less than 3 times.  Also, my daughter managed to win the most disgusting jello brain ever.  Good times.

I stuck some black felt triangles on my orange hoodie and went as a pumpkin.  Gotta love pregnancy for the easy costume ideas.

maydaymom-Happy Birthday! I am glad you had a nice time! :)  Snowing where you live!?!?  Yikes! I am not ready for that yet.  They are forecasting some snow for next week! brrrr....

Halloween- My DDs are going as Dorothy (dd1) and the scarecrow (dd2) from The Wizard of Oz.  I posted a pic of the costumes I made in the crafting thread, but I will post here, too.

Chapsie-  Sooo happy your scan went well and that baby girl is healthy!!! :)  Once you have been exposed to all the 'scary possiblities' on a personal level, it is hard not to let your mind run amuck with what-ifs.  Also, congrats on passing that test!!! How exciting!

Veganyogamomma- So happy you have found a place to live! :)  About the being crazy for moving cross country with a newborn...  I personally think it'd be much easier to move with a newborn than a newly mobile baby/toddler.  You are smart! All you need is a baby carrier! :D

nearlyelated- "The dog ate it!" lol.gif  Glad your hubby is home soon.  Hopefully your dog will stop acting up with his arrival.

spughy- I am glad you and DD had a great time!!! :)

AFM- Nothing new here. Just feeling really tired today.  DD woke up at 6... 1 1/2 hours early.  ugh.  Pregnancy-wise, though, I am feeling really really good.  Really second trimester-y.  I hope it lasts through the holidays so I can get all the necessary crafting done in time!!!

So, I woke up way early this morning, with low blood sugars, couldn't get back to sleep, so decided to go for a walk. I wound up with a delightful omelet, a pumpkin spice donut (or two whistling.gif ) and a pumpkin spice latte out of the bargain, so hey! I can't complain too much! ;)

My mom called me, DRUNK, the other night, and told me that I HAD to find out the gender of this baby, because his life might depend on it, if he's a boy!! (My great aunt had two sons with Duchennes Muscular Distrophy, but my mom has one male cousin who is fine, and I have a brother and a male cousin who are both fine.) Either way, what is finding out going to do for us, at this point? We didn't find out my daughter's gender, so why start now? So my mom can SHOP. She called me to play on my fears so she can SHOP for the right gender. I am SO ANGRY with her, right now.

In other news, I started lactating, last night, and my breasts feel very heavy, this morning. I remember being surprised and highly amused, the last time, with how early things started (the things they DON'T tell you about pregnancy) but I swear this is even earlier than last time. XD

I've got half the cutting for my daughter's costume done. \o/ Had to get more pins, today, so I can finish. (Guess what I'm going to be doing today? ;) )

Oh thanks cabbitdancer, now I totally want a donut. :P

But no, I was virtuous this morning, and after last night's "dinner" of twizzlers, ginger ale and the scraps I could carve off beef bones I was roasting for stock, I thought I'd better start today with my own power-smoothie: raw milk kefir, raw egg, protein powder, banana, fresh raspberries and kale.  And now DH has gone and taken the car and there is a mess staring at me so rather than venture out for donuts, I will stay home and tidy.

Of course, I have a good donut recipe...

I ate donuts this morning thanks to you, cabbitdancer! lol.  I am very sensitive to any mention of food.  I either need to eat that food NOW NOW NOW! Or, the thought of it makes me sick. lol.gif

Donuts sound good. :)

Mmmm, donuts. Looks like it's that can of cinnamon rolls for me in the morning.

AHHHHH!!! maydaymom!!!!!!!!!   Cinnamon rolls has been a desire of mine throughout the whole pregnancy, but the closest cinnabon is 70 miles away and in an airport, so I'd have to buy an airline ticket and go through security to get one.  This did inspire me to make them, though.  It was my first experience making yeast bread and it wasn't as bad as I always imagined it being.  Now I'll have to bring out all those ingredients again!  :D  YUM!

I found a very yummy looking recipe today for pumpkin cheesecake with Nutella mixed in, you guys are making me want to get the ingredients tomorrow and make it winky.gif

Blah, I don't feel well today.  I can't pinpoint what it is, all I know is I woke up feeling very tired, nauseated, dizzy and I'm having a hard time focusing.  I think I should get my iron checked out.  I just don't feel normal at all uhoh3.gif

maydaymom, happy birthday! Glad you had a fun time out celebrating!

Chapsie, congrats on becoming an IBCLC! And on having your anatomy scan look good. :)

veganyogamomma, how exciting that you might have a place to live. That should take some pressure off thinking about this move!

cabbitdancer, thanks for mentioning donuts. I am like jodieanneanton, it seems, where a mention of food often turns into, "I could really eat that right now!"

Linnaea, sorry you're not feeling so well. Eat some good iron-rich foods while you're waiting to get your levels checked. My iron levels were fine when they checked them, but I still had a span of a few weeks when I suddenly wanted to eat red meat all the time, and my midwives said it might just be that my body needed iron then. I felt like I was on a meat high a couple times when I ate steak - it made my body SOOO happy!

We had house guests again for a couple nights this week, but two of them were very good friends of mine, and two were good friends of theirs who I know more tangentially, and it was a great time. I stayed up too late and didn't get enough sleep and went for a walk that was twice as long as anything I'd done up until now, so I've been exhausted yesterday and today but it was worth it.

(sorry if anyone gets emailed replies, since I just had to edit that last post several times. Not sure why the font was going huge, or text was posting twice, etc. Sigh. Must be time for bed. :))
