I had an ultrasound: Chat Thread - Page 3

Here are pictures from today's ultrasound!

NOTE!: I am not interested in gender guesses please, just wanted to share the baby pictures!

The tech said that baby has exceptionally long legs and guessed that baby would be tall... then the tech glanced at my husband (tall long legged guy) and mumbled "well I guess that makes sense" ha ha.

thanks amlikan! I'm already worried about how fast he / she is going to be able to run away from me once the toddler years hit. I guess daddy will be in charge of the chasing.

Don't worry, you should be able to keep up until they get a bit bigger than that. :)

I know but I'm still going to use it as an excuse when I'm tired and I want daddy to do it.

Congrats on boy #3 nattery!!  At least you are well-versed in boys, now! :-)

Congrats on your third boy Mrs. Floyd! I also really wanted to know this time around for the same reasons. Luckily they were really booked throughout the next 6 weeks so we got an early anatomy scan at 17 weeks.

I have my one and only u/s this afternoon. I am hoping to find out the gender (although the reason for the u/s is to locate the placenta.)  Crossing my fingers and so excited to see the baby!  My oldest son (8) is coming with me and the rest are staying it home so it doesn't get to chaotic in there.  It will be nice to share this experience with him.  I don't have a preference at all for gender...we have 2 boys and 2 girls currently.

Update...

My 4 yr old daughter ended up going with me instead and she was disappointed to find out we are having a boy.  I'm excited (but would have been for either!) Everything looks "excellent."  Baby measures 21w3d which is just a little bigger than the 20w6d I know I am.

That's great!! Congrats on your little boy! Did you find out the position of your placenta? Just curious! I have a posterior placenta and I love feeling the baby move as much as I am, compared to my anterior placenta with my last pregnancy.

My 4yr old daughter had a similar recation when she found out the sex of the baby, but now she is totally on board with this baby and it doesn't seem to bother her.

My placenta is anterior, but not near my scar so all is well.  I do feel lots of movement though.  Enough that I can't ignore it even if I'm really busy doing things.

Amlikam, it's good your daughter has come around.  My daughter just wanted the girls to "win."  biglaugh.gifThe boys are very happy.  Now the "competition" is blue eyes vs. brown eyes ssince we're all tied up on that too.

Frustrating....  I have a posterior placenta and still barely feeling movement at 20 weeks :(   I try hard to concentrate on feeling it.  I've even tried chugging OJ and laying on my left side and nothing.  Then later in the evening (usually in the bath) I'll feel a tiny flutter or two.  I saw lots of movement on the ultrasound Monday, but can't feel most of it.  I was a size 10 pre-preg so I'm not 'huge' (although I have put on some belly/ booty chub during pregnancy) but not enough to make a huge difference in clothes sizes, etc....    Everyone keeps telling me that it's normal and I'll start feeling it soon.

I had my 20-week today and it's a boy!  The first shot we got was of his butt and business.  Had a hard time seeing his face however.  It was kind of funny.  They couldn't really tell us much.  The radiologist has to look at everything first.  I just want to know that he's healthy and where my placenta is.  It seems to be on the side with the edge near the cervix.  I think it was posterior because it was at the bottom of the screen.

we have our official US on thursday... already had one surpise US and the MW suspected boy but couldn't get a clear shot. So we pretty much think it is a boy and will be surprised to hear anything different.

we'll see for sure in two days though!

I am SUPER stoked at the thought of having three boys though... i feel much more like a boy mama than a girl mama!

We had our 20 week scan today (at 21+4).  This was our first and possibly only look inside, so it was very exciting for us! Baby was very active and the tech was a bit frustrated that it wouldn't hold still for measurement pictures. We only got one very blurry profile picture of baby's face. Despite that, everything measured within a day of my dates, so we are on track for a late June/ early July baby.  I suppose that we will get our "official" results at our next appointment, but there was nothing that led us to believe there were any complications or concerns. I was impressed that the tech didn't give away the sex...though there were one or two shots that made me strongly suspect something!

Our baby refuses to cooperate for u/s, I am taking that as a sign of his personality later on :-).
