ahh you sound just as excitable about christmas as me!!

Yes i do.. not to all of them, but there are certain friends i always buy gifts for, although i have a big friend support network and they are quite often better to me then my own family are so i am very greatful for this and liek to use christmas as a good time to show them (im particularly terrible at remembering to post/buy birthday presents/cards.. i normally remember the bday but forget to give them what ive got most of the time.. its so infuriating!!

So its thanksgiving.. i know nothing about it .. what is a typical thanksgiving.. and does it feel more or less important then christmas? How is it different.. and what has been your favourate bit of it ( ha tonnes of questions) :P

Well, I'm in Canada and we celebrate thanksgiving in October.  We usually have a large family gathering.  My favourite part is have celebrations/rituals as part of the change of seasons. Thanksgiving is about harvest for me.

My question: What baby products have you made that turned out really well? (or do you plan to make?)

We made diaper cream that has been better than anything we've bought (and much less expensive).

Ohhh....I have to say the training pants that I sewed for DS.  We did EC and needed trainers when he was 6 months old (and very skinny!) It was my first sewing project since grade 8 and they turned out quite well.  It gave me the sewing bug.  700

I want to make kimono style night gowns for the baby this time (I had a couple last time and they were so much more handy than sleepers in the early days), and I will make trainers again, maybe my own diaper covers...we'll see what else seems exciting at the time.

Are you planning to take a trip or go on a babymoon before baby arrives?  If so, where are you going?

Im going to bude (in cornwall) for christmas, but thats not gonna be much of a holiday because its with the family (i havent done family christmas in 10 years, and dont get on with my mum, but my cousins had a baby in november, and we are all going down to see her..

I'd quite like a little trip to spain or france though maybe before babys born because i havent been on many holidays but i dont know how advisable it is because im high risk.. we shall seeee..

I've just had my nurse come in with my b12 injection and promptly also shove a flu jab in my arm (hooray for freedom of choice.. i told her i didnt want it repetitively!!!)  So my question is are you getting the flu jab this year? and if so/or if not why?

OMG, I'm so sorry greensad.gif

I chose to get the flu shot (emphasis on chose) just before I got pregnant as I like to get it normally as I travel a lot, DD is in daycare, etc. but I don't get it while pregnant as I don't feel the the unknown risks justify the limited rewards.

If you could have the perfect birth for you, what would it look like? Who would be there? Go all out!

Times ... echoing Quinalla ... NOT OK for your provider to give you a shot you had declined! Hopefully this is just a passing nurse and not someone who's heavily involved in your care? Eek.

Ok ... it's at home, with an English-speaking midwife that was glad to take me into her practice mid-pregnancy. DH is there, of course, and my best friend is there as photographer. And why not, a fellow MPH friend who's a doula. My MIL can arrive late the next day ;) The room is dim and I have a kickass playlist going. I feel confident and amazed at my body the whole time. I keep my sense of humor (as do the rest of everyone!) and we can laugh and feel close while I'm getting the kiddo out! I would love to catch it myself, or have DH do it.

Pretty achievable except for the presence of my friends :(

What's something you HAVEN'T thought much about or figured out for the coming babe?
