Just a Pop In

Hey everyone,

I thought I'd post a really quick update since I remember hating when people vanished and not hearing from them ever again. I left most of my DDCs because it was very hard for emotionally when we first found out about our Down syndrome diagnosis. I have ended up spending most of my time on the Down syndrome pregnancy boards because it was just easier over all.

but I did want to let everyone know that the pregnancy is going really well. Jude is doing wonderful so far: no heart problems at all, and everything is on track, etc. She's extremely wiggly and is already keeping me up at night. We're feeling really positive about her health right now.

For awhile I was very into reading about Down syndrome, memoirs, blogs, technical books, etc but lately I've felt like I just need to wait and meet her first. I want to get to know her first and her condition secondary. The whole family is super excited to meet her!

Greentea!!! I have had you on my mind so much lately! I am so happy to see your update. I figured that being on a board where other mamas aren't where you are or dealing with what you are dealing with was hard. I completely understood why we weren't seeing you around here!

I am so happy to hear things are going well with Jude. One of the things I always remember about you is how BEAUTIFUL your family is....seriously, beautiful children. I am so happy they are excited about their baby sister coming (soon)!!  hug2.gif

It's much much easier now. Once the shock and grief wears off, it's kind of like "Oh I'm just having a baby" and that's a common thing around here:P I think it's hard at first because you usually find out when lots of other people are getting the testing done so there's a lot of fear of being "the one." And of course if you're that one it's hard to process other people's fear (which you get is totally legit). I feel much stronger now, and a lot more like "this is just Jude, and she has something extra."

Thank you so much for the update!  I have been wondering how you and your family are doing.  It's wonderful to hear that your pregnancy is going well and that your beautiful baby is happy and healthy in utero :)  I figured that you were needing to work through feelings with those in a shared experience.  We missed you and are glad to see you back!

So good to "see" you! Yes, thank you for the update. You've been in my heart as well. Glad to hear that Jude is on track and wiggly. She'll be here soon; so exciting! Hope you'll continue to pop in whenever you feel like it...like with a birth story, if not before (hint, hint, hint). Take care :)
