Doll house recommendations for 3yr old. We have a small house so space is kind of an issue, but I think it will get a lot of use! Thanks

If you have limited space, you could try what my friend did for her 3yo DD. She got some wooden boxes, about the size of shoe boxes, and set them up on their side, so they were like a shallow room with an open fourth wall. Then she cut "doorways" in the side of each one, put wallpaper in them, and furnished them with Plan Toys and Ryan's Room. Her daughter loves it because she can rearrange the house every time, or only play with one room at a time, etc. It takes up a lot less room than a doll house.

Those are some beautiful doll houses that pp have mentioned!  I don't know if I'd be willing to make such an investment right away though.

I would start with something like this and see how she likes it.  Then maybe when she is older and her play gets more involved and intricate, you could invest in a larger higher quality doll house.

I second the Plan Toys dollhouses. DD just turned 3 and we got her one from Amazon (great prices -- we saved more than $100 off the usual retail). They have lots of different styles -- we chose the Chalet because it looks like our house, but all of them are wide open, easy to use, and solid. It's nice that all of the furniture is wood and the people are big enough for little hands to easily manipulate. She's been playing with it nonstop and I'm sure we'll be using it for many years.

You might be able to find one used locally or on CL to ease the cost outlay a little.

The fold & go dollhouse / melissa and dog is really cute (and 15 dollars cheaper at sears) w/ a picture of the inside.

There are so many options, that greehouse by plan toys above, is a good one.

I bought a bookcase dollhouse for my son, 7 years ago, at Micheals art store.  It was a basic, bare plywood?, 2 stories and an attic. We never did finish decorating it but my daughter will enjoy it now.

Before that, one creative morning, we made a box dollhouse that he was very enthused about;
