Social media group?

Hi,

Just wondering if there was a FB group set up, as it seems really quiet over here and I find it easier to follow on FB.

Anyway- if there is, can someone let me know who to friend to get in?

Thanks!

If there isn't, there should be! I agree--it's easier to stay in contact over FB, especially with the changes to the site layout.

I went ahead and created a group on FB. You can join here! https://www.facebook.com/groups/april2013ddc/

You'll have to change it so it's private and nobody can see who is in it or what they post. Otherwise, I don't think many people will want to join...

:)

Sweet! I just sent my request to join. And yes, I second making it 'private,' if it's not already. We haven't done a fb announcement, and I'm not sure if I'm going to.

Please don't abandon this board!!  I don't have FB (and don't really want one) but I'd love to keep chatting.  This is the only online environment I really fit into with my parenting choices!

Oh, glad to see I'm not the only one in this world without fb.  I was beginning to wonder, as my grandmother-in-law created a fb account last week!

I'll still be here posting!

LOL!  I actually used to have one but felt it wiser to delete our account so we did and I haven't looked back.  But yeah, I'm pretty much the only person I know without one, too!!!

Same here! Perma-deleted my acct a while back, and it is SSSOOOOOO frustrating when local businesses say things like, "visit us on Facebook for sales and details."

It is nice to know I am not alone in denying fb the right to follow my life all over the Internet.

I'll be hanging around here too, even though I'm not opposed to joining a FB group. FB is fun, but I really like having somewhere "special" to come for this stuff. I am in a (private) group for mama's that were in our July '08 DDC and there are only about 25 of us so it's really neat to still be checking in with these mama's that I've been friends with for the last 5 years. So... I'll stick around here for now winky.gif

That made me ROTFLMAO.gif

My 75-year old dad has recently started learning how to use a computer. It's pretty funny, sometimes, to watch/listen to him trying to figure it out, but I like that he's stepping out into the world of technology.

That being said, I have a FB, and would like to join the group, I will also stick around here. Y'all are very similar to my parenting views, and some (most?) of the people on my FB think I'm crazy for some of the stuff I do/think. So it's nice to have a special place in mothering, too. :)

Ditto to not being on Fb and hoping people continue to chat here too.

I'm not leaving! Just eager for more baby talk, any way I can get it! (We haven't told lots of folks, and aren't planning on a big public announcement at all, so it's a bit lonely in my world.)

I'm happy to make the page private/hidden. It will just mean that people have to be a friend with a member in order to get in. Right now people can see who is in it but not what is posted.

I will totally still hang out here and post as well, I love this site, just so I can browse what other like-minded mamas are up to. I just check FB a lot for work/social stuff that it seems like a good spot for a group.

Just didn't seem busy over here, so I wondered if everyone had already jumped ship for FB and maybe I missed it before I joined...

not a big facebook fan either here

sweet...I requested....but will still post here as long as it's active too...I'm not a big topic starter but I will include myself in convo on here as well as on FB.

just put in a request on there as well...I am sad that the DDC are so small here now.  What happened?  Have the mothering forums in general slowed down?

This, totally!  Not on FB and would be extremely sad if everyone abandoned this board.
