Finding a VBAC friendly Doula in the East Bay (N. California)

Hello,

I am going to attempt a VBAC in a hospital setting. I'm looking to find a doula that will follow me through my pregnancy, help with labor and the birth as well as postpardum care. 

If you are a Doula or know where to start finding one please let me know!

I'd love to have the birthing experience I've always dreamed of this time around. I am due in May 2013.

There is a group called Doulas of the East Bay. Here is their website.  I would start there. You can ask them about their VBAC experience and set up an initial meeting to see if you are compatible.

Hi Samantha,

I'm a VBAC friendly doula  :)  and there are many more of us in the East Bay.  Really all of the doulas I know are very supportive of VBAC clients and many have VBAC experience.  The other poster is right - there is an East Bay Doula Group; there is also a group called Doulas of the East Bay (slightly confusing). 

One of the easiest sites to use to find a doula is BirthWays, which allows you to request a volunteer doula, or DONA, which allows you to search by zip code.

I just saw this.  Hopefully Heather is able to help you.  If not, there's also the Mt Diablo Doula Collective, which has several VBAC specialist doulas.
