Hello,
I'm looking for some advice about my 18 month old DC. I've read Dr. Sears article on night weaning and began weaning her gently at night because of frequent night nursing that was starting to seem like a non-beneficial habit. I chose my most valuable hours to not nurse (12:30-5:30) and things went slowly but well. My daughter was not particularly upset and she seems to "get it" when I say that the "boobies went night-night"
.
Trouble is that I night weaned her in the hopes of getting a bit more sleep and it hasn't worked out like that really at all. She has started waking up in a startle what seems like every 15 minutes. She does not ask to nurse, doesn't even seem to want to and settles back to sleep fairly quickly and easily. But then she's starling awake again in another 15 minutes.
I am relating this to night weaning because it started happening after a couple weeks of weaning but I'm not 100% sure it's related.
So, what do you think? What's the cause of this sort of waking?
Thanks for your help!
