I had two painful contractions (transition-like contractions), then about 6 hours of pretty comfortable, lovely labor, then pushed two feet out, then my midwive arrived, then took an ambulance ride to the hospital for a c-section.
I took the hypnobabies class, did all the homework, and generally believed in the possibility of a comfortable childbirth. I ended up with a shockingly painless labor, and dilated to completion. Two difficult contracts are when we think my baby turned (he was vertex the morning of labor).
So, I'm curious how much his presentation could have affected my comfort in labor? I know baby positioning matters a lot. How much might be attributable to the position versus my relaxation and hypnobabies techniques?
