Does a breech position make for a less painful labor?

I had two painful contractions (transition-like contractions), then about 6 hours of pretty comfortable, lovely labor, then pushed two feet out, then my midwive arrived, then took an ambulance ride to the hospital for a c-section.

I took the hypnobabies class, did all the homework, and generally believed in the possibility of a comfortable childbirth. I ended up with a shockingly painless labor, and dilated to completion. Two difficult contracts are when we think my baby turned (he was vertex the morning of labor).

So, I'm curious how much his presentation could have affected my comfort in labor? I know baby positioning matters a lot. How much might be attributable to the position versus my relaxation and hypnobabies techniques?

I've never had of breech leading to a more or less difficult labor. It sounds like Hypnobabbies really worked for you!

This is the only thing I've found:

"Breech birth can be a lovely variation on a natural process. Labor may be less painful and shorter than with a head-down baby."

Your story sounds so much like mine, a bit more painful for me but still, very managable pain.  I had taken a class on pain management but could remember nothing except one position, and I was so suprised that my labor went that easily!  If I had another breech baby, I would hope I could just push him out too fast to worry about position.

I haven't had a breech baby, but I did have practically painless births with my first and fifth babies.
