I need a purse!!

I know this doesn't seem like a parenting question but it is!! The bane of my day is going into my bag many many times a day. Seriously. This is affecting me and my stress level. Does anyone have a great purse that they like? I do not mean a diaper bag but one that is big (and pocketed?) enough to carry all the things DD and I need in an outing. p.s. We do usually have a bag that stays in the car for more stuff like change of clothes. But I carry many other things with me.

Would a backpack work? I really like using that for outings since I usually need to carry food, water, personal stuff, books, etc... with me. I also like using a off the shoulder sling type bag if I it's a short trip or I don't need to carry as much.

I can share my sympathy -- I feel like I've been searching for something that works better for a few years myself, and everything that's the slightly bigger size I think I need is just a tad too expensive for me to spend on a purse.  I've made do okay with some cargo-ey, nicer looking messenger bag styles (I have a gap one right now) BUT I get lots of various small zippered pouches for things inside of it to help keep things more organized.

When dd was young I carried a backpack with all of our stuff.

These days dd takes her own bag and I have a fairly small purse.
