UC-friendly midwives around north Kansas City MO area?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a UC-friendly or very hands-off (unless necessary) midwife around the northern KC Missouri area.  PLEASE??  I am already 33 weeks (just moved to the area and can't find anyone I can afford in my area yet).  In our previous area (before I had to move) the midwife I was seeing was very flexible with payment and said I was considered low-risk.

My husband (now ex) walked out and I am in desperate need of someone who would be willing to help me with a home birth or at least afterward if this one comes really fast (for example, with post-partum checks for myself and baby/support).  The ex left us with very little, and I am willing to try to work out a barter system or payment plan and have been praying that God would send me the right person who would be willing to help me.  I have so much stress on me right now and just want to feel safe during and after this birth.

Have you tried attending the KC Friends of Missouri Midwives meeting yet?  There are probably some mothers there who can point you in the right direction.  If nothing else, there's a friendly doula you might be able to bounce some ideas off of.  Good luck!
