What should we do while we wait to see if they actually get chicken pox? I know it can be dangerous to pregnant women who are not immune, and I know they can be contagious a few days before they actually develop any pox... so should we avoid being around anyone until we know for sure?
How does potential CP exposure from us translate into the risk of getting shingles for older adults? We are planning to visit my family in a couple of weeks - which includes my dad (has cancer) and my elderly grandma. Obviously I do not want to risk them getting sick. During our visit, my children will be 17-20 days past the day they were exposed. If no symptoms show up by then, will they be in the clear? Or should we cancel or trip? (I am fine with that! I just would rather not inform all of my family about what's going on - so if I need to reschedule I will do so but give them another reason).
Thanks
