Muncie, IN-Midwife/Non hospital birth questions

This will be long, as I have no clue how to be quick with explanations/questions.

I am wondering if there are currently ANY non-hospital birthing options in east central Indiana. I have two kids, one born at Expectations Birthing Center, which was here in Muncie until last year.

Since they have closed, I have honestly been scared as crap that I'll end up pregnant and have to have a kid at our local hospital.

Guess what? Pretty sure I'm pregnant (haven't tested as of yet because I really don't wanna know with as much unsettled mess as is in my head. Stupid, I know, but hey, never said my logic makes sense). I labor quick. My son (older kid) was induced at 7 am and born at just before 2pm, the little girl (the birthing centered one) I left the house when I realized yeah, we're having a baby soon and she was born about the time they were getting to setting up a tub to see about a water birth. I'd say maybe an hour total of 'real' warning.

Which is why it's so much a 'has to be pretty local' situation. I'd probably have a baby before I could get to a hospital with a decent/acceptable to me L&D unit (short of both my kids being exactly 10 days overdue. Guess on week 41 day 3 I could just assume there will be a baby then so it's time to go out of town :P)

This is all complicated by low income/medicaid issues, by the way. I can possibly work around that, though, if it means I don't have to deal with well intending medical professionals asking me if I'm really sure I don't want medications x, y, and z for me/baby 100 times.

I don't know of anything, but interested if other people might. I would like something similar, but thus far have been going to St. John's. If there was something else available, more to my views, I would much prefer that.

Contact Indiana Midwives Assoc for referrals. There are midwives near you.

There are many midwives that service that area.  Homebirth would be your best option (but you would likely bear more cost)  I'm not sure if there are any CNMs or HB friendlydoctors in Muncie.  A google search would be the best option.

I used the midwives who now practice at St. John's Hospital in Anderson.  I had a hospital water birth (they were at Community Hospital then) and I was very happy with the care I received.  I used their services for my fourth baby, after my third was born at home. My midwife released me 12 hours after the birth.  My only issue was that the on-call pediatrician wouldn't release my daughter prior to 24 hours, so I had to sign her out AMA.
