I need more sleep...

I am so F'ing over the waking every 2 hours to nurse at night.  SO OVER IT!!  Like so many others, nighttime is my only true time that I have to myself...so when I'm dragged out of bed and down the uber cold hall...and bump into the walls I'm just done.

:(

I tried the No Cry Sleep Solution and things ended up even worse.

Today I'm marching my sweet butt to Target and buying her flannel crib sheets to see if warm sheets will help (the rest of us all have flannel so it's worth $15, right?).

I hear ya AQ!  And I bed share, I don't know how you do it! Some nights are better than others but we had a string of nights where DD was up what felt like every 45 minutes and I was sooooo cross those days.  On most nights I can count on her sleeping at least 4-6 hours straight and oh how I cherish that time. I'd love to actually get some sleep during that time, but DH gets me instead.  I hope tonight is one of those nights where she only wakes 2-3 times.  Hang in there, I hear they all grow up :)

I think I just overlooked this awake all night biz with my other two because I could nap with #1 daily...and #2 when #1 was at preschool.  Now I just have two kids that need constant attention that won't nap at the same time.

I think I am seriously going to Target tomorrow to get those sheets.  They work for the rest of us, why not Q?

Oh man! It's bad enough that I have to wake very 1.5-1.75 hours at night with E but if I gad to walk down the hall on top of it, I might actually lose my mind! He was doing better for a week (as in 2-3.5 hrs) and then it went right back to the frequent wakngs.

I have been working with Nicole from the baby sleep site. I'm on day 3 of E falling asleep at bedtime without nursing but still co-sleeping. He does protest but tonight, he settled pretty quickly! I cannot believe it's actually working and I don't have anything to feel guilty about because I am right there soothing him. In a couple of nights, i move to work on nightwakings and only nursing twice a night. I hope it goes just as smoothly! I honestly thought it woukd never work on E. I was so convinced I had the worst sleeper ever...guessnot! Okay, fine, we just started but I already see so much progress and it's giving me hope that soon I might sleep more than 2 hours straight for the first time in almost a year!

Thanks for being honest!! So many people talk about the joys of nurturing your baby at night time and I feel like punching them in the face. I am so over it, too!!! Especially because my little guy used to sleep 10 hours without waking and now all of a sudden he's up again every hour or two. Driving me absolutely insane. I think I got spoiled by the 10 hour nights...

Has it gotten any better since you posted this four weeks ago?

Nope.  In fact, it got much, much worse.  Up every hour or two and too full to nurse and me just wanting to cry knowing that I'd have to deal with the other kids in X hours.  Massive suckola!

She started solo standing a few days ago, though.  So I'm hoping upon hope that she needed to get over that milestone and then will sleep more.

*yawn*

So, the sleepsite plan worked! By night 5, E was going to sleep peacefully within 5 minutes without nursing and waking up to nurse only 3 times (and unlatching and moving himself away from me)! That's a HUGE improvement!!! Downside---I got plugged ducts from him nursing so much less at night (OUCH!) Day 6 came and welllll between fevers, vomiting, roseola, colds and headlice crashing in on our house, sleep "training" went out the window....he's almost better now and so am I and I hope to start up again in the next few days! It was SO worth the money I spent!

Well, I just bit the freaking bullet and came up with a set hour...and no nursing before that hour.  Yes, it sounds harsh, but screw it - I needed her to sleep more!  So I told myself midnight.  If she woke before midnight I would go in and hold and rock and love on her...then lovingly place her back in her crib.  I can't believe it's working.  Like, the kid is going LONG stretches now between nursing.  WTF?  Why didn't I try this earlier?!

Wooot! Yay!

E got sick AGAIN right after my last reply. I am starting up again tonight! Wish me luck!

You guys, I'm exhausted. Kindermana, I'd love to know what you're doing? DD is not sleeping enough at all right now, night or naps. I know sleep begets sleep so I'm cutting out coffee to see if that gives us better naps which will hopefully give us better night sleep. I have a friend with another January baby and she's giving sleep training a shot now to, mostly like AQ, no feedings between certain hours. Good luck ladies, I really look forward to just 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep!

Holy crap!  I put her to bed at her regular time (+/- 7p) and went about my night.  I got my first wake up call at 3:45a.  !!!  I can't believe it.  It's all a crapshoot with this age so I know tonight will be different, but yayYAYyay!!

Lucky you!  The one time in recent history DD slept longer than 4 hours, I didn't know what to do with myself.  I ended up sneaking into her room and laying in there until she did finally wake up.  Ha. Never had that problem again!
