Flexible soled shoes for older kids

DS, 5, just moved into a size 1 shoe and it seems like he has now outgrown or will soon outgrown half the brands we've liked in the past or they are styled in a really agressive, "older kid" kind of way.. The alternatives I've seen all have very stiff soles. Brands we've liked in the past are Tsukihoshi (size range is bigger but IMHO ugly), Pediped, some Stride Rite styles, See Kai Run, etc.

Can anyone recommend specific brands that offer larger sizes? I want to be able to bend the shoe in half with one hand.

We liked flexi soles too and DC migrated into Adidas indoor soccer shoes when she got to be around 5.

I've used these with my babies, but for an older child maybe only indoors... http://www.padraigcottage.com/

My DD wears the Merrell Barefoot Trail Glove and we love them. They are so light and flexible.

Oh. Those might get me another two years. Thanks.

I'll also take a look at various "barefoot" models. DH has some new very flexible Nikes that he likes.
