But not to MDC! I have been reading your post and getting really excited about what I am trying to do. A little history. I have a history with binge eating/not eating, but it has gotten alot better since I have become a mother. Pre first child I wore 10/12. After #1 I was a 20 . I got down to a 14 and then got preggo w/ #2 and ended up an 18/20 again! Well now #2 is 8 months and I have only lost 6 lbs. All 6 of it being recent. I have tried The Firm (not enough time to fit into my schedule right now), some other workout videos and belly dancing. Belly dancing has been my fav. It's what I did to loose the weight w/ my DS. But so much has changed in my life and I never seem to have time to workout.
With the weather warming, I finally found myself starting to want to loose the weight again. So I have been doing my darndest to STOP overeating. I heard a beautiful message from our Pastor. He said our sins of yesterday and Satan do NOT define who we are. That was 9 days ago, and I've lost 4 lbs since hearing it. It really made me think, "I don't have to be this person anymore". And all of the sudden I felt happy again. It really renewed my outlook on life.
Another driving motivation is my children. I love my son, but my daughter is my concern. I don't want her to grow up in a home where mommy is dieting and struggling with her weight. I dont' even want her to know what "diet" means. I had so many issues growing up because my mother was always dieting. I was thin, but I didn't see myself thin because of what I was learning at home.
So here are my stats, long term and mini goals:
Starting weight 195
Current weight 189
1st goal 180
long term goal 120

I am going to try to start walking, before the weather gets too hot to permit it 2x per week. I also want to start my Belly Dancing again 2x per week. I need support, and someone to kick my butt!
I will try to food journal (although I absolutely despise it), and excersise journal too.

BLESS YOU if you made it this far!

Natasha,
I am right there with you! I am a size 20 after the birth of my first and only (she is 7 months old). I was a 14 prior to getting pregnant! The difference is our weight though! I weigh 238!!! Out of control! (Isn't it strange how God makes weights so decieving?) I too will go without eating then want to eat everything to make up for it! About the food journaling I keep a paper on the fridge and write down what I eat as I am preparing it in the kitchen! Sometimes it keeps me from reaching in and grabbing everything :LOL
Well I have rambled on, WELCOME

Oooohhh, belly dancing....

Tell me more! That sounds like so much fun!!

My thing I want to learn to do is rock climbing...there's a class offered on the base here, but it's three hours long and 7mo dd is exclusive bfing, so I don't think it will work. I'm sure they'll offer it again in a couple more months. If not, I'll inquire about a private class. That's something I've *always* been interested in!!

You can do it! Be consistant. Don't give up. Your body will adjust over time. You can't just jump into a new way of eathing all at once, or expect to be doine x amount of exercise right away. Little bit by little bit.

I started out by just walking and then riding my bike. At first all I could do was half an hour and then moved that up to an hour. Then added more hills. Then added 5 lbs weights, then moved to 8 lbs. Then started at a gym on my own, then added judo.... I went from 175 to 160 to 145 to 135 to 125 to 120, basically. Those are the numbers I remember, anyway. It just takes patience and commitment. I also had a breast reduction and althought hat only removed 2 lbs at the most, that really helped how I look and feel and my ablility to exercise. Oh- plus I stopped nursing obviously.

Oh and I have to say that I changed my diet because my cholesterol was too high (256!)- that amounted to cutting out hydrogenated oils, and high fructose corn syrup and adding more fresh fruit and veg. and cutting out red meat and upping whole grains. I also eat a little bit all day long. I literally cannot sit down and eat a whole lot at once anymore. Just "grazing"- but all day!

Hope some of this will be of help. Good luck! You can do it!

Hey Desiree! Would you like to journal together?
I took the kids to the park and we walked around it too. I think our regular walking days will be mon/wed because my DS has speech those days and we pass a walking/bike trail to get there, so why not stop!

Ladies these are the bellydancing tapes I have. I only have 2 from the set. Well 1 since I loaned 1 to a friend. : Gotta get that back :LOL
