5 weeks and in maternity clothes??

I have been silently lurking here since my tww... I am almost 5 weeks prego with my third child and begrudgingly pulled out my maternity pants this evening. I have worn my (only) fat pants now for about 5 days in a row to work and It's getting pretty old. I feel gross, and fat, and embarrassed that I am already wearing my maternity clothes- kinda like people are going to make fun of me because my baby is the size of a sugar ant and I already don't fit into my normal clothes. eyesroll.gif

I don't remember when I started maternity clothes with my other two but it was not even close to this early, I'd guess right around second trimester. Is this all bloat? It does get worse as the day goes on but I haven't noticed any influx in gas or constipation or anything... anyone else have this issue?

Yes!!! I have been meaning to post about this. I'm 7 weeks and feel enormous. I've been slightly constipated but I really can't imagine that that accounts for my enormous belly. Baby is supposedly only blueberry sized at the moment. It's also a little complicated because I'm in grad school and would like to hide the pregnancy for as long as possible. But at the rate I'm growing I should just tell them tomorrow.

Is it because it's #3 and our bodies decided that we don't have stomach muscles anymore??? It's a little embarrassing.

I'm on baby #3 and moved into my fat pants last week at 7 weeks. It seems ridiculous for my belly to be so big already! The funny thing is that I wake up with a flat stomach, and by the end of the day I look 5 months pregnant. I guess it's all bloating.

I get it. I'm on baby number 4 and I have to stop wearing my regular pants right away. I actually started feeling uncomfortable in my regular pants before I got my BFP. I switch to solid colored yoga pants. Old Navy yoga pants are wonderful. I don't know if you can get away with them at work though. Thank God for being a stay at home mom. LOL

What I might suggest wearing to work would be a dress and leggings if you don't mind those.

The body remembers what it needs to do. So, you have a little tiny seed/raisin (whatever) in there, but you body is preparing for a grapefruit or something. lol.gif

Oh I feel ya. I'm only 8 weeks & I have 1 pr of pants that fit & I still can breathe in. I am not sure I'm ready to go straight to maternity clothes yet. lol  I'm gonna  go tomorrow & get a couple pr of stretchy pants to hold me over as long as I can.  I know it's bloating & water gain but it sucks!

This is only my second pregnancy, but at 9.5 weeks im feeling soo bloated at the end of the day, I feel 5 months pregnant too. But in the morning I just have a little bump. Barely noticeable. But definitely can't fit into my skinny jeans.. Lol I'm a stay at home Mom so I've been wearing pajama pants or really low stretchy jeans if I have to go out. With a loose fitting shirt. I can't wait til I don't have to hide it.

Thank god I am not the only one!!! LOL I am only 5 wks today and this is baby #2 and I don't fit into ANY pants. I have one pair that I can do the whole hair tie trick with but other than that I feel like a fat cow trying to walk around and not breath! I do remember with my daughter that after the second month I didn't fit into any of my clothes but was still to small for maternity clothes...and now this pregnancy has me not fitting into my clothes a whole month early! I know they say that your body "remembers" what it previously went through and so returns to that state quicker but sheesh- my little bean isn't even the size of a peice of rice yet!!! Man do I feel lame! ;)

I will be 8 weeks tomorrow or something and this is #5 for us.  I also feel huge and don't understand why the scale says I have not gained any weight, but I feel I look big, puffed, and bloated in te midsection.

Yep, so glad you all feel the same. This is #3 and I feel like a huge cow...although in the morning I look skinny with these amazing breasts ;-) LOL! I can't button my pants anymore but it is bloat. I am SOOO gassy it is insane. I'm not constipated, but the gas is ridiculous! I'm also constantly nauseous so it's just crap these next few weeks. I remember getting to this point with my second and telling my mom that I just want to look a little more pregnant because I just look fat right now :(

:) I was just thinking this last night. I figured it was the stomach muscles not healing right after last time. It is weird that in the morning it's not the same though. Has anyone tried the belly band things? I've been wearing leggings a lot. I found a nice pair of winter weigh ones that are super comfy and don't' get baggy at the end of the day. Other than that I'm at a loss. For me it's more about the shirts. I can't stand the tightness around my body, so I've been wearing my husbands sweat shirt around the house :) now if I could just find something that feels the same way but can be worn out of the house.

OMG, that was me. And I am on baby #1. I had to go out and buy maternity jeans at 5w3d. I was not thrilled to say the least. Here at 9 weeks, I just look fat(ter than usual); at this point I would really just like to look identifiably pregnant, but that probably won't happen for at least another month.

I'm 8 weeks, third baby and have lost 5 pounds. Still, I can't stand how anything feels on my bloated belly - so I wear stretchy pants or transitional maternity (that has a band down lower) - anything on my waist makes me sick!

Me, too. I am at the end of my eighth week and I feel exactly like everyone is describing: bloated. I still fit into everything but definitely by the end of the day my stomach is all puffed out.

After having nothing comfortable to wear today, I guess it's time for maternity clothes. (I showered and then put on pajamas to wear all day! I don't feel well anyway so it was fitting.)  I'm 9weeks with my 5th child.  You'd think I have lots of maternity clothes by now, but I went down 2 sizes since my last pregnancy so I need to get some work pants and jeans especially.

I'm at 10 weeks now and was getting sooo bloated in the beginning.  Now that that has eased up, it's not too bad and the regular pants are fine.  I'm loving my yoga pants and am thinking of getting more of them with how comfy they've been

I bought a belly band at Motherhood yesterday...they have them at Target too, but I wanted a black one and our Target only had white. They are fabulous! I put on pants last night to try and could wear them with the zipper completely down and you would never know. I showed my husband what it was covering and he was like Whoa! Those things work. I think it was about $18 but I am not ready for maternity clothes yet, so this is helpful.

I got the belly band too but it feels too tight and my regular jeans, even unzipped all the way, are still not comfortable.  I'm 9 wks 5 days and bought maternity jeans at 7 weeks.  I've been wearing skirts and dresses to work since week 5.....thank goodness I have a business casual dress code at work!

Well the bloating is finally starting to go down a bit. but I am still in maternity pants full time because even a little bit of pressure on my belly feels horribly  uncomfortable. which is silly but whatever.

the pants are too big and I keep pulling them up but I'm thankful it's the cold rainy season here so i can get away with big sweaters and coats to hide.

I love this thread.  It has made me feel so much better.

I took my maternity clothes out of the barn last week, at like 6 or 7 weeks.  I don't think I started wearing maternity clothes the first time until I was past the first tri, and the second time untill about 12 weeks.  Even my regular yoga pants are too tight right now!

I guess with the third one my body has just said, "oh yeah we're doing this again," and my belly looks like 5 months pregnant. I actually want my 4 year old son to start spilling the beans at preschool, so that everyone knows why I'm so fat, tired and unkempt looking, lol.
